Hayleen walked anxiously through the living-dining room of the apartment while Thomas watched her from the couch, amused by her nervousness and the difficulty with moving.

-Can you stop looking at me like it's the first time you've seen a girl? I'm already upset enough without adding that you're stalking me.

-It's fun to see you almost climb the walls, angel. Besides, I don't think I can ever stop looking at you, you're perfect... and mine.

-I'm not! -she yelled, taking it out on him-. And you said he'd be here by now, Thomas! It's a long time, a long time apart... and it's your fault -she added, glaring at him even though he seemed immune to her complaints.

-They should be coming, don't worry. Sure he's fine, Seth must have missed you like you did but he must also be having fun with his grandmother –he answered with a reassuring smile as he stood up and brought her closer to hug her.

Hayleen wouldn't admit it willingly but the feel of his arms around her was more than effective in calming her down, especially now that she knew he wouldn't try anything sexual; she had already had to remind him before that Seth would be arriving shortly and they couldn't lose time because while they were changing he saw all the territorial marks, which he had left on her body, and he had cornered her against one of the dressing room walls with all the intention to fuck her until she can't remember her name.

Just as he was guiding her to the couch so she will stop moving around the apartment, someone knocked on the door. Lyn tried to run to open it but instantly her body reminded her that recently she couldn't even walk alone.

-I'll go -he said amused as he pushed her between the cushions.

-Of course it amuses the damn, he is not the one who feels like a baby who can't move well alone -she grumbled annoyed, crossing her arms and ignoring the laugh of her soulmate who was already opening the door.

-Good morning, Ava. How did the little prince behave?

-He didn't give me any problem. He seems to be as smart as Gally at his age -the Minister of WICKED replied as Thomas grabbed Seth.

Thomas's face soured when he heard the name of her son's father but Lyn could only see his back so she didn't notice.

-Thank you for taking care of it. Hayleen was concerned because they are not usually far from each other but I am sure we can find more free time for you to get to know him better.

She really preferred that Seth didn't get too fond of Thomas and Ava, she wasn't planning on staying long, and she didn't want him to be separated from people he loves. However, she knew that the smart thing to do to get away was for others to think she was helping them, and also it would probably be the only chance her son would have to meet his paternal grandmother if all went well.

-Of course, Thomas. You should also lead to him and to your soul mate today for analysis as possible.

-I'll take them soon and introduce her to the others.

They said goodbye and he walked over to Lyn quickly to pull Seth into her lap.

-Hello mommy baby! How is my little prince, did you miss me a lot? -she asked him with tears in her eyes and smiling strongly; she felt pretty silly because they had been apart for a short time and she was already reacting like that but she really wasn't used to not being with him and it was more difficult than others would think.

-Mommy! -he replied, nodding with a bright smile and hugging her with his fists clenched around her hair.

-I also missed you very much. Did you have fun with Grandma? -she asked, and he nodded again with his head still locked in her neck-. I want to introduce you to someone, Seth. He is Thomas and we are going to be living with him for a while- she explained separating him a little from her so that he can see who she was talking about while Thomas rolled his eyes at the comment of "for a while".

- Boyfriend mom -he answered smiling and greeting him with a little hand.

Hayleen was tempted to deny it but she didn't want to confuse him so she sighed and nodded resignedly.

-It's all that woman's fault, she must have been filling his head -she couldn't help but complain.

-Your grandmother Ava is right, I'm your mommy's boyfriend -he said to Seth as he gave her a funny look, making fun of her annoyance- but you can tell me Tom.

-Tom, boyfriend mom -applauded the traitor laughing.

-Of course they were going to plot against me -she grumbled indignantly-. Little devil -she added, accusing him while Seth kept laughing at her-. He's your son now, not mine, then -she set him down on the floor near Thomas.

-Don't worry, angel. This little prince and I are going to get along wonderfully -he replied with a wink-. If we are going to spend so much time together and you are going to be like my son, we have to get to know each other better, right, Seth? -he asked him now, smiling at the baby who was looking at him attentively.

Hayleen obviously wasn't serious about him not being her child now but it wouldn't be bad for her little boy to spend time with other people and get along with Thomas. He was right, they were going to spend a lot of time together until she found her way out of the WICKED facility.

While her soulmate and Seth were spending quality time together, she took the opportunity to look at the bookshelves that were there. With the state of the world these days people used to read only virtually and in very few cases they had physical books, either because of the difficulty involved in getting them or because they could not have them if they were going to be in constant motion to save their lives. Hayleen was one of the few who preferred to have a book in her hands and could afford to have a large library in her room; apparently Thomas was like her in that regard.

First she quickly scanned all the books to find out how many of those matched the ones she had at home. There were some that she had already read but many others were unknown to her or she had not been able to get them so she looked at the library more carefully then. Every time Lyn found a book she didn't recognize, she would take it out, look at what it was, and then put it back carefully. Finally, she decided to grab one that caught her attention and another which she had wanted to read for years; there were plenty more Hayleen planned to read but she could look for them at another time when she finished the two she was taking.

She left them on the light table in the room to read them when she had time; on a day off she could get to read up to a book and a half... of the big ones, but she didn't think she would have a lot of free time between Seth and Thomas, so she would probably go much slower.

Lyn returned to their side and looked at the time. It was almost going to be snack time, so she had been totally absorbed in books for hours. She and Thomas had woken up so late that they'd had to eat a quick lunch while waiting for Ava to arrive. It was not uncommon for her to skip breakfast and have lunch directly, many times with Seth they woke up quite late, so she did not mind skipping it.

-Have you finished analyzing all my books? -he asked mockingly-. You looked beautiful so concentrated, your face lit up every time you found something that caught your attention.

-You mean, all the time -she snorted, blushing and smiling at him.

-Why don't we all have lunch together and then go to the labs?

-If there is no other option... -she answered resignedly.

Hayleen hated the idea of collaborating with WICKED but she guessed it wasn't so bad if she did it this time; they wouldn't get much more information than their aunt got and it was probably nothing too relevant.

They had a picnic together while chatting about how Seth had been when he was younger and she told him some anecdotes. Then she changed the baby's clothes, which the ones Thomas had gotten for him, and they headed for the labs. Lyn knew that after that he had planned to introduce her to some of his friends and the truth was she was already nervous since she was not used to socializing with strangers and could be quite shy; besides, she didn't know how she would feel about people who idolized Thomas and were loyal to him. Hayleen supposed she would find out soon.
