Jaehyuk's brows furrowed as something lit up in his heart. That voice sounded so soothing yet it was the thing that made his heart ache. Was he at the brink of sleep? Not conscious but barely conscious at the same time. Was he starting to hear things now? Was he dreaming? He didn't know if he should call out and ask him if he was actually there. He might wake up from the dream. Asahi held his breath, waiting for him to answer.
"Asahi?" He asked hesitantly , expecting his own voice to wake him up from the dream. Jaehyuk held his breath. Asahi didn't know what to do with his hands. He awkwardly flexed his hands and wiped them on his pants. Contemplating in his mind wether he should say something or not made him notice he remained quiet for a long time .
"Y-yeah? Do you um...do you want me to open the light?" The sound of his own voice felt foreign to him. Jaehyuk's heart dropped when he heard his voice. Slowly , he turned his body just enough to see him. His headache throbbed harder when he separated his face from the now wet pillow. He winced when he looked at Asahi.
"No...what are you uh..doing?" he answered, looking at Asahi awkwardly standing in the room. Why was he back? Was he back to tell him he didn't like him again? He rolled his bloodshot eyes and stuffed his face back on the pillow. "I already got it...you didn't have to come back."
Asahi slowly nodded to himself and looked down at his shoes. It was a mistake he should've never come back. The guilt nagged at him, he ruined their relationship. Why did he think he had the right to go back and try to fix it?
"Sorry um..I guess I should go back." He apologised in a low tone. Jaehyuk's eyes opened. Asahi waited subconsciously for a few seconds to see if Jaehyuk would do anything. when he saw that he didn't do anything, he finally turned to the door. Jaehyuk sat up when he heard Asahi's footsteps against the wooden floorboards.
"wait." He said, stopping Asahi's hand from holding the door handle. "Stay."
