You woke up in your bed by a gentle ray of light shining through the currants. You groaned gently as you blinked your eyes open, trying to cure the settle throbbing in your head.

You knew the throbbing meant you used too much of your dragon's power. That you most likely became somewhat high off of it. You could only hope you didn't do anything too stupid while you were high off power.

You sat up slowly, wincing when your injured arm moved. "Great." You mumbled to yourself sarcastically. "A broken arm. Gotta love that. It's almost better than a- oh my gosh!" You gasped when the figure sitting beside your bed caught your attention, giving you a minor heart attack. You sighed in relief when you realize it was only Loki.

Loki was fast asleep on one of your lounge chairs that he must have pulled up beside your bed when he was looking after you. His head was lolled to the side, with his shoulder length raven hair slightly tossed around. On his lap rested a fuzzy green blanket with his hands sitting on top of it, an Asgardian book in them still open. Like he accidentally fell asleep reading. (Which is probably what happened.) His breathing was quiet and steady, as his chest rose and fell evenly with every breath. You couldn't help but take note of how Loki's jaw was perfectly sharp, even while it was relaxed, or how toned his arms were, or how perfectly smooth his skin was. Even knocked out cold sleeping in a lounge chair this man looked regal and elegant.

Which was totally unfair because you were pretty sure you looked like death when you were knocked out cold.

But that was Loki for you. Everything he did was regal and elegant. From how he slept to how he held himself during a fight. He moved like everything was choreographed specifically to show how princely he was. How elegant he was. How powerful he was. He moved in a way that made it seam like reality was bending to his every whim. Making him look in-control of everything that went on around him, no matter how chaotic it was.

You quietly swung your legs over the bed, trying to make as little noise as possible as to not wake the slumbering god. You gently padded over to him, taking his still open book out of his hands carefully, setting it gently on your nightstand after marking his spot with one of your nearby bookmarks. You then took his fuzzy blanket and tucked it under his chin gently, making sure his whole body was covered. Out of impulse you brushed away a few loose strands of hair that was coving his face, tucking them behind his ear.

You couldn't help but notice how peaceful Loki looked while he was asleep. Though the god of mischief and chaos didn't have wrinkles he did carry tension in his face while he was awake that seamed to have disappeared now that he was in the land of dreams.

"Lady (y/n)!" Thor greeted you as you stepped off of the elevator into the living room. "I see your are now coherent enough to walk on your own. Dose that me the magic hangover has worn off?"

You smiled over at Thor, grateful for his concern. "Mostly." You told him. "Now I just got a magical headache. And my arm really hurts. Do you know where I can find any pain medicine?"

"Has Loki not given you anything today to help with the pain?" Thor asked, a flash of concern flashing across his eyes.

"Loki is taking a much needed nap in my room." You told Thor casually. "Or I am assuming it's a much needed nap. Was Loki looking out for me while I was out of it?"

"Do you have no recollection of the passed couple of days?"

"No." You told Thor, then groaned. "Please tell me I didn't do anything too stupid."

"You didn't do anything too stupid." Thor repeated back obediently, lying to you because you asked him to.

"Was I really that bad?"

As if right on cue Loki burst from the elevator. "Where's (y/n)?!??!" Loki practically yelled, looking frantic. "When I woke up she was gone! I swear, if she got out of the tower and brings back another feral cat-"

"I brought a feral cat back to the tower!?" You groaned.

Loki's eyes shot over to where you were standing looking absolutely horrified and let out a sigh of relief.

"It wasn't that feral." Thor tried to reassure you. "And before anyone tries to freak you out you only set off the fire alarms in the tower. You didn't actually start a fire."

You groaned at that, absolutely mortified that the Avengers had to see you in that state. "I am so sorry."

"You don't need to be sorry love." Loki tried to assure you gently, seeing how you were clearly distressed about what you may have done. "Magic is a finicky thing. Every magician knows the dangers of overusing one's power. Magic induced highs are nothing to be ashamed of."

"I'm sorry." You told them again sheepishly. Loki was about to scold you about being sorry when you realized Eclipse was no where to be seen. "Where's Eclipse?"

"Eclipse left shortly after you came home from the mission." Loki told you gently, crossing the room to stand next to you.

"Eclipse trusted someone else to look after me in that state?" You asked with disbelief, looking up at your friend.

Loki nodded. "It's the least I could do."

"That's... I mean... what?" You couldn't quite figure out how to say what that meant out loud. Dragons never left their riders side whenever they were intoxicated with magic. The rider would be in too vulnerable of a state to defend themselves against any kind of threat. Leaving the rider unprotected like that was extremely dangerous for both parties involved. Dragons only ever did that to test and see if they could trust and count on the riders romanic partner. And they only ever did that when they knew for almost absolute certainty that the romanic partner could be trusted. Which meant... "Eclipse left me in the care of you?" You asked Loki, unable to believe it.

Loki nodded, and you could see in his eyes he was trying to figure out what you had just realized.

"I am so sorry." You apologized to him once more.

"Like I said love, there's nothing to apologize for. I was honored that your dragon trusted me so." You could feel your face heat up at that comment, and it seamed Loki noticed. He frowned, placing the back of his cool hand on your forehead. "Still a little warm." Loki commented out loud to himself. "Why don't you go take a seat while I get you something to eat?"

"I'm fine now Loki." You told him, still a little flustered.

"And you will be more fine if you continue to take it easy for a few days."

       "Loki, you really don't need-"

"Your dragon left you in my care." Loki cut in. "I will not squander that trust."

You sighed, knowing full well that Loki was too stubborn to let you take care of yourself until your dragon returned, which was exactly what Eclipse was planning on. You were going to have a long conversation with that dragon when he came back. "If your sure..."

"Go sit." Loki told you, gesturing over to the two of yours couch.

You sighed again, but left to go do as Loki said.

You were really going to have a long conversation with your dragon. A really really long one.
