I held my mother's hand as we were going to watch Zeke.

"Y/N, Are you okay?" My father, Grisha asked as we almost reached the fence.

"I'm okay papa," I said as I gave him a comforting smile.

Seeing Zeke again makes my worries go away. I was always alone at home and no one would play with me. Zeke won't be there to protect me from Marleyans. I spend my free time with papa in his office.

Sometimes I and Zeke would be together but it's only a short moment

We reached the fence where we see Zeke in the last running with a shotgun and a heavy backpack.

I still remember what happened that night.

I can hear their discussion about Zeke being a spy. Why?.

Zeke's eyes met ours. In the corner of my eyes, I saw my father turning his back looking frustrated as for my mother who reasoned with him.

Are they frustrated because of Zeke being a failure?.

Father. Mother. Why?.

I looked back at Zeke with empathy.

All of this is crazy. Poor Zeke. He's just a boy.

Our eyes met as Zeke's face looked relieved. He mouthed my name but a man on a horse called him and he started running.

"Y/N" I heard my father's voice as I went to them.

______________

"Damnit! It's bullshit!" Father's voice was heard through the door of my room. Why is it like this? Can we just live normal?

"Don't say that! He's trying his best!"

He is trying his best. What does Zeke feel right now? Sad? Angry? Disappointed?. He's trying his best to keep up and become a warrior candidate.

"He'll never be a warrior like this!"

Father. I wish I can smack your head with a frying pan right now.

Everything is chaotic.

I pulled my knees up to my chest as I hugged my teddy bear.

"Are you okay?" A girl's voice asked but I didn't bother to look at the person.
