«Quand tu m'arriveras à la cheville, tu pourras faire mes lacets.»

«When you get to my ankle, you can tie my laces.»

"What causes the prices of some goods to rise while the prices of other goods fall? Price determination is one of the things that we will study in this book. We will consider factors that lead an economy to grow more or less rapidly, the determination of unemployment rates, and even the process through which governments make choices that can lead to the kind of dilemma the United States faced in 2011 as the national debt soared past the nation's debt limit."

I didn't think the semester could get more challenging. Boredom and unfocus drowned my thoughts. Isn't it lovely how lackadaisical I was about my study? How could I blame myself when every time one problem was solved, one popped out of nowhere.

Thea's presence in my classes worsened the situation. I couldn't help but noticed her vivacious gestures to caught my attention. She asked twice more questions and had some directed remarks to make.

When the bell rang, she pushed me on the way to the door. I couldn't ignore her antics for long and decided to confront her.

"If you got something bothering you, just come say it to my face," I shouted at her in the hallway.

"You talking to me?" She stopped and turned around.

"I don't see no one else here trying so hard to get my attention." I raised my shoulder.

Our classmates started to group around as she walked up to me.

"Your attention isn't important to me anymore, sister. You think I'm nothing, but I am going to be something better and bigger than you! Just watch me bitch."

"Awww, how cute, looking for my validation. Work harder, you at the bottom of the barrel." I crossed my arms and sardonically smiled.

I didn't regret wearing heels this morning, Thea was an inch taller than me, but she was wearing sneakers today giving me the advantage of being more intimidating.

"Joke on you, you think everyone is lower than you but trust me, I know you enough to use your own trick against you so I can humiliate you," She spat in my face.

"Good puppy, keep following your master." I sashayed down the hallway, leaving her with the group of students laughing.

Thea was nothing to fear. She wanted to be the next Agea, so let her be. I couldn't care less.

As I strolled through the buildings, texting Xavier and Chris, I bumped into someone, almost knocking me out and the books in the individual's hands fell to the ground.

"Watch where the hell you going!" I yelled at the person.

"You shouldn't be texting and walking."

That person was Juan. I haven't seen him for a long time. He squatted and picked up his books.
"Are you okay? you seem upset." He asked me.

"Yeah, just had a minor inconvenience. I'm fine."

"Great then. Glad to see you're doing great. But before I go, Julian's is hosting a party across the street, and you should come."

I burst out laughing.

"Yeah, no. I don't think so."

"Why not?"

"I think you forgot who you are talking to." I posed with a hand on my hip.

"Well, I am inviting you. I think you need to take a break and relax." He sweetly proposed. I couldn't understand why he was friends with Julian. I didn't know anything about him. He had brown hair with hazel eyes. He wasn't slim nor muscled. Both were Mexican and lived in Texas. He looked adorable and happy, while Julian was the contrary. I guess the opposite do attract each other.
