Chapter Start

3rd pov:

Two weeks later

Mikey was seen sitting next to y/n's bed on the hospital. Behind him are Draken and Emma who are looking silently at the still unconscious y/n.

The doctor said that it may take her two weeks to a month to regain consciousness.

During the past two weeks, y/n's grandparents came to see y/n and grandma broke down crying the moment she saw her granddaughter's state. Grandpa, on the other hand, is very angry at Mikey as he shouted, "What have you been f*cking doing, you brat?!! I shouldn't have let y/n get involve with you!! Now what?! I'm telling you now, if my dear granddaughter didn't wake up within two weeks, I would not allow you to ever see her again!!" Then, both grandparents went inside y/n's room only leaving after visiting hours is over.

"Some promise I've made..." Mikey suddenly spoke within the silent room. Emma and Draken just look at him in confusion.

"I always tell myself to protect her, that's the least I could do after all the times she put up with me. I don't wanna see y/n-chin getting hurt. And yet..." Mikey said, hands slightly shaking as he held her hand in between.

"I... I couldn't keep it... If only I didn't focus to much on the thought of killing Kazutora, then..." He gritted his teeth, blaming himself for his actions.

"...I shouldn't have agreed on the deal I made with her grandfather." Mikey tightens his hold on y/n's hand. "...nor should I have agreed on the deal y/n-chin made." He spoke in deep regret.

"...Mikey." Emma called, not really sure what to say as she listen to his brother's words.

"But... if y/n-chin wasn't there, then... Baji would've died." Mikey continued as he watch y/n sleeping.

"Y/n-chan wouldn't like you to think like that." Draken commented suddenly, but it was too late to take it back right now, yet he didn't try to stop his words nor did he regret saying it. He knew Mikey heard him, even if his back was facing them. "Because for y/n-chan, you never break the promise you made with her." He finished.

Mikey immediately countered by saying, "But, y/n-chin still got into this situation because of m-"

"Don't finish that." Emma cut him off slightly raising her voice. "It was an unexpected event."

"Emma-chan's right. No one really expected someone to take advantage of the chaos and struck the back of y/n-chan's head at the time." Draken said agreeing with Emma.

Silence reigns the room. No one spoke for a whole minute giving each other time to reflect.

"We'll give you some time to think about it alone. We'll go and visit Baji next." Draken stated before he left with Emma trailing behind him leaving Mikey alone with the unconscious y/n in the room.

For the past two weeks, Mikey spent his remaining hours visiting y/n, bringing one dorayaki each day to which Draken questioned why with Mikey saying, "Because she likes this!". Right now there's a whole basket filled with these treats next to y/n's bed, just waiting for her to wake up and eat them.

The hours of when Mikey visits y/n were spent fixing her blanket covering her from the cool air to keep her warm, sitting beside her and trying to comb her hair while gently holding her hand in his. He talk about his day, not minding that it was one-sided, because he knew it wouldn't be like this soon.
