Thomas decided to take them to lunch at the dining community so she could continue to meet Teresa and, hopefully, find there the others. Hayleen had always been more of the homey type and would have preferred to eat in the quiet apartment. She also didn't like all the stares she was getting and was getting a little anxious just thinking of strangers coming over to talk to her. Only recently had she started interacting with people outside of whom she had known her entire life and socializing with others was alien to her; she felt that every time she opened her mouth she was saying the wrong thing. Of course she knew that she would have to forget her fears and shyness if she wanted to find a way out of WICKED; she needed to form relationships and made people trust her. Hayleen supposed that she just had to get rid of her initial discomfort and everything would be easier onces he got in touch with some of them.

Despite the terror she had felt when she met Gally and Thomas, she hadn't had any problems related to her occasional shyness or awkwardness in engaging in conversation; there was a trust between them that made it impossible not to act as if they had known each other forever. Lyn assumed that means having a soulmate, feel that was back at home every time she saw him.

She hadn't been with Gally too long but with Thomas she had been a little longer and she could understand why he was one of her soul mates. She hadn't seen his darker side yet, and no matter what he did, she knew she couldn't help but love him with all her heart; she hated that she was already falling in love with him. Hayleen kept repeating to herself that she was an idiot for feeling that way, that she had just met him, but she was also aware that they were soulmates and a part of her, which she hated to admit, knew everything about him.

She sat at one of the tables with Seth on one side and Thomas on the other as they waited for their food to be brought to them with the options they had chosen from tonight's menu. He spoke animatedly with Teresa, who was sitting in front, and involved her in the conversation whenever they could; she soon found herself being completely a part of it although she was struggling to focus due to the hand that was resting on her thigh possessively.

-Can you stop touching me? –she finally exploded irritated.

-Why? Does it turn you on? -he smiled mischievously as he moved his hand even higher making her jump on the seat and blush.

-Just stop, Thomas -she complained looking at Teresa and apologizing with her eyes although she only seemed amused by the scene they had staged.

-Thomas! Teresa! -a boy's voice was heard calling them.

-Aris! This is Hayleen, Thomas' soul mate! –exclaimed the scientist, indicating her effusively and making her slide a little more in the chair, wanting to disappear.

An olive skinned boy with dark hair cut surprisingly short sat across from Lyn looking at her curiously and a dark skinned teenage girl with dark eyes and frizzy hair followed him. The girl seemed to have a kind look and was looking at her with a bit of pity.

-It's great to finally meet you. It feels like we've been waiting ages to do it -the boy complained.

-I hope we can get to know each other well now then, Aris. Thomas and Teresa told me that we will probably spend a lot of time together. You must be Rachel, you can call me Lyn –she introduced herself to the girl, something told her that she could be a potential ally so she forced herself to speak and forget her shame.

-Yes, I am. I guess that's the baby everyone's been talking about.

-His name is Seth -she informed her with a bright smile.

-He looks a lot like Gally -Aris pointed out, analyzing him.

-An improved version without a doubt. Gally is an idiot -Thomas said through gritted teeth.

-He seems quite angry with him -the boy whispered to Teresa, although everyone could hear him the same.

-Tom, you're going to have to get over it. You guys need to get along and you know it.

-They have never really gotten along, Teresa. They collide all the time.

-Yes, but in the end they always end up reaching an agreement because they know who they are and what bonds them. You seem angrier with him than usual -she pointed accusingly at Thomas.

-He should have warned us at the moment he recognized her. And if he was going to have sex with her first, then he should have informed someone in the moment he finished. He knew what was at stake and still let her win. Because of him, I missed two years that I could have spent waking up with my soul mate in my arms, when I see him I'm going to punch him for useless -he declared, clenching his fists in anger-. And you can't tell me anything Teresa because a hit is the least he deserves and it's nothing compared to what I enjoy doing to others.

-That's if Gally lets you punch him -Aris snapped and earned a look so dark from Thomas that he said nothing more until Hayleen tried to start a conversation with him.

She discovered that he was an extremely quiet boy and realized that she would probably enjoy spending her free time with him. She was sure Thomas would always have someone watching her when he was out of the apartment and she wouldn't mind if it was him. Rachel was very nice but seemed to be more of the extroverted type and, although such people could help her out of her shell and have fun, she was not someone Lyn could spend the whole day without going crazy and need a break; sometimes she just needed to be quietly reading with someone to accompany her and that might be Aris.

He told her that he spent a lot of time monitoring Group B trials together with Rachel but that they didn't have as much work as Thomas and Teresa because Newt, Minho and Gally were not in their group. He invited her to accompany them one day and comment on what was happening; she replied that she would think about it but the truth was that she would never do it willingly, just thinking about watching how girls died and suffered without doing anything to stop it made her want to cry and she did not care that most had agreed to enter in that place. Finally they agreed that he would look for her and keep her company when he was free to get to know each other better.

Before going to her room with Thomas, she said goodbye to everyone and agreed to spend time with Rachel the next day while Thomas, Teresa, and Aris worked on the trials. By the time they reached the apartment, Seth had fallen asleep in the arms of her soulmate. He led him to the other room, which WICKED had already equipped with a crib and everything else, while she shuffled wearily toward the bed. She pulled off her clothes quickly and grabbed a T-shirt that Thomas had left on the floor because the few feet to the dressing room suddenly seemed like miles. With her eyes closing due to the few hours of sleep accumulated in the last two days, she collapsed on the bed and covered herself almost to her head; she always had to cover herself with a sheet minimally because otherwise she would not fall asleep.

Hayleen must have fallen asleep soundly, since she didn't hear Thomas enter the room and undress; she only woke up for a few seconds when she felt Thomas's arm go around her possessively. Lyn went back to sleep with a sleepy smile and the feeling of fullness accompanied her until she fell back into a deep dream.
