This week has been very interesting, to say the least.

I think that the reasoning is because Angel and Drea haven't let me walked out of my hotel room sober. I was always a little tipsy. Either it was strawberry soaked with Tequila or a shot of Crown Royal or Hennesy; I was never stone-cold sober.

It was never a problem because I came to Louisiana a couple of days before performing for Essence Fest. Now we're a couple of days before Essence Fest, so that means I can't be leaving the hotel room tipsy.

"Genesis, you have soundcheck in one minute," Melissa says as I check my dressing room, trying to look for my Oreos.

"I know. I know." I mumble while looking behind the couch and in between the cushions. I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked in the drawers and still couldn't find them.

"I'll just look for it later; we can go," I tell her, causing her to shake her head and walk out of the dressing room with me behind her.

Once we walked out to the stage, I noticed that the lights were tinted pink. There were also many musical instruments for me to play during rehearsal and during the show tomorrow.

"Hey, guys." I greet the pianist, the drummer, and the crew.

"Hi, H.E.R. How are you doing today?" One of the people on the crew asks me. She had a heavy NOLA accent.

"I'm doing fine. How about you?" I ask while pushing my glasses up.

"I'm good, just blessed to be around so many positive energies." She says, causing me to nod along with her.

"So, I'm curious, how many new songs do you want to perform? Because from the email, you're gonna perform Vol. 1 and 2." She asks as I look around the venue.

"You said that I have about an hour, right?" I ask, and she nods her head.

"I wanted to play one or two new songs that I haven't released yet," I tell her, and she nods.

"Okay, just tell the band which sings you want to play, then we'll set the sound up." She responds and hands me a mic. Once she walks away, I walk towards the band to discuss the setlist.

"So you stated that you want to play your guitar, piano, and the padded drums." The drummer says, causing me to nod.

"Yea, I'll play the piano at the beginning of 'Losing,' padded drums for '2', guitar for 'Best Part,' 'Fate,' and 'Make It Rain.'" I tell them, and they nod.

"What order of the songs did you want to play from Vol. 1 and 2 did you went to play again?" The drummer asks as I fix my messy bun because I felt it start to slip.
