What others felt,
So I made promises
I couldn't keep.

Like I loved you

From where I come from
Love has never worked.
It's far from perfect
It's not even work in progress.
So naturally
It was what
I wanted most
To love and be loved.
But I care about you
Too much to do this.
So I'm asking something of us,
Let's be friends.
I want to know you,
Before I make promises.
Before I kiss you,
Before I love you.
