SUMMARY!
To say that RUBY WRIGHT was immediately popular at quidditch-obsessed Hogwarts would be an understatement. After all, her great great great great ( and probably a couple more great's too, but she can't remember ) grandfather invented the golden snitch. And that fact meant only one thing: she supposedly had a gift with handling the golden snitch, but that was just a rumor. However, everyone wants to know if it's true.
But, she disappointed everyone by not joining the Slytherin quidditch team for her six years at Hogwarts ( so far ), despite Slytherin quidditch captain Evan Rosier's begging to get her to join. However, she's content with her green hued quidditch-free life. That is, until she makes her way to a Gryffindor party ( on a dare ) and JAMES POTTER brags that he could beat her and the Slytherin team with his eyes closed. And Ruby'd never had an opinion on the Potter boy — deeming him not super consequential to her future, but as her pride was her downfall, she now wanted to beat him with everything in her. Even if it meant joining the quidditch team for a game.
So Ruby brushes up on the rules ( and by brushes up, it's actually learns the rules as in her singular act of rebellion, she's declared that she doesn't care about quidditch ) and learns that wands are allowed. And luckily for Ruby, her friends in Slytherin ( while slightly amoral and very snobbish ) are nearly geniuses, so they can help her come up with a spell to cushion the fall from a very tall height and unluckily for James Potter, she was nearly sorted into Gryffindor, which means she's not afraid to jump off her broom and catch the snitch in mid air if it means winning.
