Part 2! I Can Fix Them

They/Them

2nd POV

Tech was right. The easiest one to convince was him. It didn't take a lot to convince him, however. The other members of Clone Force 99 were occupied doing their own thing, so that left a lot of spare time for you and Tech to 'bond.' You believed Tech trusted you as easily as he did because his unnatural gift of being the brains, not the bronze. He wasn't stupid, that's for sure, and you weren't lying... partially at least. If it came down to Lord Vader's commands, you'd have no choice but to slaughter them. You'd die otherwise. You could easily take down Crosshair if needed, and the Bad Batch could swiftly go into hiding. Having an Inquisitor on their side could prove beneficial,

"How long have you worked for the Empire?" Tech questioned, still fiddling with his little data pad.

"Why don't you ask me something that's not for science?" you questioned, getting a little aggravated at Tech's constant prying, "I have a lot of answers to your questions, but I'm not interested in the betterment of the galaxy until I know I can trust you and the others."

The young Clone nodded, and reluctantly slipped his data pad back into its handler, and faced you, "Okay. How long have you been influenced by the Empire?"

Your mouth became instantly dry as you tried to answer his question. Licking your lips, you continued, "When my Master died during Order 66, I was captured by my battalion. I felt so betrayed and lost. The torture was the worst part of the experience, as one could guess. It broke me, and I fell to the Dark Side for support. Unfortunately, that's what Lord Vader wanted to happen. I fell into a trap I couldn't get out of."

The other members of Tech's squad were far enough ahead for this conversation to just be heard by the Clone. Tech was special, and you felt answering this question for him would really show him the struggles you'd endured all these years,

"I figured as much, (Y/N)," he replied, walking at the same click as you, "You're the first Inquisitor we'd run into, but I assume that's happened to all of your squad, hmm?"

You hesitantly nodded. Your Master had taught you against showing fear about your past, and just conjure up your feelings of anger and hate to become stronger. You knew although Vader wasn't around, he knew you were confiding in someone, which was an absolute joke in his eyes. You'd be punished if Vader located you. You had to either go through with Crosshair's mission, or stay with the Bad Batch,

"What's Crosshair like?" you asked hesitantly, "He's the Commander of my current mission to terminate you boys. He seems course and hard to impress. He is fueled by others' fear, and loves being in charge."

Tech uncomfortably cleared his throat and scratched the back of his head. He had removed his helmet during the long walk. You could see the uneasiness on his face,

"Considering how many questions I've asked you, it wouldn't hurt for me to answer one of yours," the Clone whispered, grief washing over his handsome features, "Crosshair was our brother. Our best friend. He was one of us, and he still is despite his chip's malfunction. I cared about everyone we met despite how closed off and standoffish he is. He loved working for the Jedi, but almost killed a young member of their order as Order 66 was initiated. We were branded traitors by our own brother. Wrecker is the most affected by Crosshair's betrayal, so please... don't ask him about it."
