057 - blame on me

themes: unrequited love, abandonment, lack of closure

all the blanks that fall in front of me

could be filled by your gentle kiss

that i have to imagine on my own now

the only place i can go to find you

are the nights free from terror

where reality becomes the nightmare

did i say too much or nothing at all

were you chased away by the steps not taken

after the war has ended all that's left

is a barren land once full of promise

i lay here in a putrid torn up dress

a result of a love not watered enough

the blame is all left in my dirtied hands

you walked away before i knew what you did

i spend the rest of these hopeless nights

weaving stories of what could have been

singing songs to remind my friends

of the strongest feelings i ever felt

the worst part of all the pain you leave

is i cannot even blame you for any of it
