Third Person's POV

Hasim Ibtyaj, who had been a very confident, self-reliant, self-motivated, and successful man all his life. He had all he ever wanted in his life. He had money, power, respect in society. Never in his life, he had bowed down to anyone except his Lord.

Being this successful never made him any less of a family man. He has always been a family man. First his family, then the outside world. Throughout his life, he had worked hard to protect his family. But in the end, he had been defeated. Destiny had lost him. He had failed to prevent the recurrence of history.

With a heavy heart, he entered the house as he went out to the masjid to pray Fazar salah. His gaze went around the house as it was the house of mourning. The echo of the muted wails came to his heart and an unbearable pain shot through him.

Heart beating wildly, he walked towards the room where he would find some solace. He opened the room only to see his wife sitting on the prayer mat looking at a photo. He walked up to her and sat beside him.

Shahnaz Begum didn't look up when she heard the door cracked open, not even when she felt him sitting beside him. Both of them were silent as they both were looking at the photo longingly.

"Aren't they afraid? Don't they fear their Rab, that they have to face Him at the end?" Shahnaz Begum spoke up.

He took her hand in his, Shahnaz Begum looked at him with tears in her eyes. "Weren't they satisfied when they killed him? He didn't do any harm to them. He was an innocent child. He was just a baby, Hasim. My baby" Shahnaz Begum cried up.

He took her in his arm and hugged her petite self. In front of him, he was not seeing his 50-year-old wife but his 20-year-old young wife who was mourning the loss of her first child. His heartache to see his wife in such pain. The pair sat embraced, grieving their lost child.

"Stop being so dramatic." Laila Begum slapped her daughter's hand lightly.

Habiba sighed as she couldn't believe what was happening in front of her.

His son was laughing like a madman at his Mamu's (mother's brother) silly face, where he usually would have thrown a tantrum and cried hysterically when his mom would go out for work and it would take her some time to calm him down.

Yes, she was happy that he was not crying but she was jealous to see him happy like that with his Mamu. Jealousy overpowered her happiness.

"You don't know, Ammu. It hurts." She pouted.

Laila begum rolled her eyes at her silly daughter.

"Yaaa, don't do that," Habiba shouted at her brother who threw Zayn in the air and Zayn laughed out loud.

Habiba walked up to him and took Zayn in her arms.

"Mama is going to the hospital. Be a good baby for Nanu and Mamu, ok?" Habiba kissed all over his face.
