I walked out of class relieved that I'm going to Jennie's and not home. Jennie is waiting for me outside my classroom

"Hello," I said awkwardly feeling bad for inviting myself over to her house

"Hey, you look adorable when your awkward" she replied with a light laugh

"I'm awkward all the time" I retorted rolling my eyes

"My point exactly" Jennie snickered, a crimson blush covering my cheeks at her remark

We are laying on Jennie's bed with her non-broken arm wrapped around me and her hand fiddling with strands of my hair constantly

We're talking when she suddenly asks "Have you ever thought about us going public?"

I readjusted so I could look at her "No not really"

"Well is it something you'd be interested in?" Jennie looked worried as she spoke

"What's with all the questions?" I asked confused as to why we are talking about this now

"Wouldn't you rather go public than be outed?" Jennie questioned her eyebrows furrowed slightly

"I don't know, obviously I don't want to be outed but I'm petrified of what could happen. Aren't you scared of what people will say and do?" I questioned incredulously

"Yeah I guess but we would have each other" Jennie replied with puppy dog eyes. We sat up a little so we are now properly looking at each other

"I don't know, I'll think about it," I said as Jennie moved to trace her fingers on my hand creating shivers running down my spine

I looked deeply into Jennie's eyes, every problem seems so minuscule when she's around

There was a knock on her door, before Jennie had answered who it is who said her name her sister walked in

"Oh sorry I didn't know you were with your girlfriend" Jessie practically sang the word girlfriend to annoy Jennie

Jennie and I moved apart from each other embarrassed even though we're just talking

"What do you want?" Jennie replied annoyed

"Can't I just want to see my little sis?" Jessie remarked

"No you only come into my room when you want something or need to tell me something" Jennie retorted

"True" Jessie sighed with a laugh

"Mom wanted to know if you could help her out with dinner because grandma and grandpa are coming over, although I could just tell her that you're busy with your girlfriend not wanting to help"

"Why can't you?" Jennie interjected

"Because little sis, I'm the older one" Jessie stated like it was a valid reason

"Fine"

Jennie and I walked downstairs

"I can go," I said looking at Jennie

"I want to spend more time with you" Jennie protested wrapping one arm around my neck and leaning in to kiss me softly

"Jennie are you coming to help me or not!" Jennie's mom shouted from the kitchen

Jennie pulled away laughing slightly, Jennie mom walked out into the hallway with four smeared on her forehead and a messy apron

"Oh hi, Lisa! I didn't know you were here" she said giving Jennie a pointed look

"Yeah sorry I didn't tell you mum but Lisa didn't want to go home yet" Jennie replied looking at me worriedly

"Is everything okay or would you like to stay for dinner?" She asked sweetly

I feel sick at the thought of just going home although I should probably stop procrastinating

"Lisa?" Jennie said my name in a questioning tone looking at me

"Sorry I was just thinking"

"I think you should stay a little longer then you know that your dad will be home and you're mum probably won't say anything in front of him yet," Jennie said trying to make me feel at least a little better

"Or she's told him and their fighting again" I replied bluntly

"What's wrong?" Jennie's mum asked looking concerned

"Lisa's parents are a homophobic piece of shit!" Jennie responded irritated

"Don't swear!" Jennie's mom said displeased shaking her head

"Sorry mom" Jennie muttered

"Well stay here for a little while longer then see what you want to do. I do have one request though, please help out with the cooking. I decided that it would be a good idea to make my famous soup and bake a cake at pretty much the same time" she rambled

"Sure I could use a distraction" I admitted

The food looked pretty good, Jennie's grandma and grandpa came round a few minutes ago and are now sitting at the table

I sat next to Jennie unsure of what Jennie would say to them, she must have somehow sensed that when she said

"So, grandma and grandpa this is my girlfriend, Lisa"

"Hello, Lisa it's nice to meet you" Jennie's grandma greeted politely

Jennie's grandpa just grumbled a 'Hello' not looking at me

"Ignore my husband he treats everyone like that don't take it personally" Jennie's grandma apologized to him

Everything was going fine, the conversation moved on about if Jessie had a boyfriend which was a no because she doesn't want to be in a relationship at the moment

Then Jennie's grandma started to talk to Jennie and me about our relationship

"So how long have you two been together?" She questioned

"Nearly two months officially" Jennie started looking at me with a smile

"You know I always thought you were a little gay" Jennie's grandma interjected

"Grandma" Jennie groaned

"What it's true. You used to go around the house singing 'I kissed a girl's and staring at all the girls in those fashion magazines" she replied dismissing Jennie's response by waving her hand around

"That doesn't mean I would end up being bi" Jennie protested

"You used to rate them from 1-10 on how pretty you thought they were and you used to make all your Barbies marry each other"

"Hmmm" Jennie cringed moaning

I started laughing at that because Jennie's grandma is amazing at embarrassing her, something that I'm not yet able to do, so it's a very rare occasion

"I think it's cute" I whispered just so Jennie could hear. I watched her as her cheeks went a deeper crimson color and laughed slightly

Jennie and I said goodbye to each other a little after dinner

"Wait," Jennie said before she kissed me tenderly on the lips

Even the shortest of kisses leaves me with goosebumps and an overwhelming feeling of happiness

Now it's just time for home...
