~One Week Later~
OH GOD BASKETBALL
She paces back and forth, fiddling with her fingers, gnawing on her lower lip. So, the first basketball game is today. After countless weeks of practicing, the dance team is comfortable with their routine. Y/N, however, is not. Well, she's very comfortable with it, she's more... scared to actually perform it.
One thing keeping her moving right now is Chaeyoung and Jungkook's support. Chae's in the locker room with the frightened girl. Before, she was giving Y/N a shoulder massage, but then the scared girl started pacing. Jungkook obviously can't be in the girls locker room, so he's waiting outside. Y/N is so grateful for her friends. More grateful than she can even express.
Jimin is out there right now, playing his heart out. The 'halftime' will take place in five minutes, so the team is gearing up, getting ready for the performance. She's already set, her makeup on, her uniform tightly wrapped around her, her shoes clean and polished. Everything is okay... but she can't shake the feeling that she'll trip and fall on her ass.
"Y/N, you got this okay? We always have a fear of tripping. I do before my meets, but I never end up falling," Chaeyoung says, trying to soothe her best friend. "You're also Park Chaeyoung," she protests, "you've been doing cross country since high school." "And you've been dancing since high school too, what's the difference?" "I never did competitions. I took some lessons, did it every night on my own... this is my first real performance."
Chaeyoung looks at the poor girl and sighs. "Look, no matter what happens, you have plenty more performances in the season. You got this, okay? You're going to have both good and bad performances, but today, Jimin will be cheering for you. Imagine the look on his face when he sees you come out in that uniform." She softly smiles, thinking about it. She's wearing a uniform that reminds her of a cheerleader - seamless dress shorts underneath so she isn't flashing anyone. The colors are dark green, black, and white. The thing is two pieces, the top having long sleeves and showing off the upper part of her stomach, but the skirt covers the lower part enough that it's not totally revealing. Not even her belly button is showing (thank God). It's honestly pretty nice. The skirt is primarily green with a small black stripe near the bottom, a bigger white stripe underneath it, combining the colors perfectly. Along with that, the top has the letter of the school on it, like the logo of the place. Normally the mascot would be the design, but nope, the dance team is different: they get the letter.
Y/N stops her pacing, realizing that she has to go get in formation now. "You got this, okay?" Chaeyoung says, patting her friend on the shoulder. Y/N quickly hugs the girl, "thank you, I really appreciate this." "Oh I know, now, go hug Jungkook." She giggles, nodding as she quickly departs the locker room.
Several of her other teammates are there, stretching one last time before the big show. However, she doesn't care about them right now. She cares about Jungkook. The man is standing near the entrance to the gym, tapping on his phone. However... that's not all. He's holding flowers.
With a puzzled expression, she walks over to Jungkook, her presence causing him to put away his phone. "Look at you... my God you look gorgeous." She smiles at his words, "thank you... what's with the... are those tulips?" She traces her finger across a petal of the pink tulips, observing them.
"I thought you'd like them..." he shyly explains, his ears turning red. "Aww Koo," she whispers, pulling him into a hug. He laughs, quickly hugging back. "I'm guessing I'll have to hold onto them until after your performance?" She laughs with him, nodding against his chest, "yeah, probably. It would be funny as shit to see me doing cartwheels with them in my hand though."
