▹ Meeting the family

"You got me flowers?" George melted, his voice softer than cotton.

"Not for you, dumbass, for your parents."

George deflated, bright eyes dimming and his smile fading into an unimpressed frown. Chungha reached over to pinch his cheek before setting the flowers down at her feet. She couldn't help but feel quite bad, so she made a mental note to surprise her puppy-like-human with some flowers the next time they were due to see each other.

The long awaited day had finally come and George was introducing Chungha to his family. Whilst she had already passed the BTS test, she was now stepping into next level territory by meeting his parents and siblings. This was more nerve wracking than she had anticipated. George is a huge family guy and if they didn't like her- she didn't even want to imagine what that would end like.

"Why are you nervous? They don't bite- well actually that's a lie, Areum bites but that just means she's fond of you."

"I just really want them to like me."

"And they will. Namjoon has already put in a good word for you and they trust his judgement," George assured her.

His parents had called his leader when George confessed through text that he was seeing someone. And they immediately ran to call Namjoon to get his opinion on the new woman in their son's life. Of course, Namjoon spoke fondly of Chungha and assured them that George appears to be in good hands.

"I know how much your family means to you. Plus, you have only recently just got a good relationship with your step-mum and I don't want to put a barrier in between that if she happens to dislike me."

George kept his eyes on the road, but chose to acknowledge her with a squeeze to the thigh where his hand had been resting. She let out a breath after voicing her worries.

"I promise you, they will love you."

Chungha could only nod and place a hand over his own. She hoped he was right.

The second Kim Chungha stepped into the Lee household, she was whisked away by Dahae. He shook his head, amusement bubbling within him as his step mother gushed over having another 'young woman' in the family.

"Oh thank god. I need to pee, would you please watch your sister?" David didn't give his son anytime to respond before he was passing the youngest Lee over to the eldest.

"Nice to see you too, Dad. I've been great," George mumbled sarcastically to himself before settling his eyes on his baby sister who had some kind of icing around her mouth. "What have you been eating?"

"Ice cream," she replied to the best of her ability.

George chuckled and turned on his heel. He stepped into the kitchen where Dahae and Chungha were laughing together but she immediately stopped when she set eyes on the youngest Lee child in her boyfriend's arms. Instantly, her eyes softened and she covered her mouth.

With curious eyes, Areum studied the new woman before looking at her brother. She pointed over at Chungha. George was about to try and introduce the two when the twins came stumbling into the kitchen with their nerf guns, whilst Aera trudged behind them. All three stopped when they laid their eyes upon the newcomer.

Looking unsure, Aera grabbed onto Geonho's sleeve.

"Siblings I didn't want-"

"Geun," Dahae warned.

"This is Chungha. My girlfriend." He didn't know whether they would understand what that meant, but he was aware that his parents had explained that Chungha was special to him beforehand just to get them used to the idea of someone new joining their family.
