Y/n's POV

It was decoration day. We had a lay in, aside from getting up to feed Harriet. We slept in to around midday until the three of us got up and made a brunch style lunch. We stayed in our pajamas, Natasha and I were in matching jumpers and shorts. They were baggy with little reindeer on the front. Harriet also had a matching onezie and Steve had matching pajama bottoms. Our home was quickly filled with the smell of cinnamon hot chocolate and toast. I looked around at the room. It had once seemed modern and sleek but now there was a much more homey feel. The lights had a warmer tone and there were picture hung on the cold walls, fluffy blankets and pillows were scattered throughout the room and we had even put rugs on the floors. So many rooms lay empty throughout the compound but our little section now burst with life. There was a wall of polaroid pictures and other pictures of past teammates. It was nice having those memories to look at whenever we felt the need. After lunch Steve got out the many bags of christmas decorations that we had purchased over the past few weeks. We had tinsel, baubles and decorations to spare. The theme we had chosen for this year was classic red and gold with hints of green. However, growing up I had blue and white or purple and silver themes.

"Do we start with the tree?" Steve frowned. We had had christmas in the past but life used to be so chaotic we never fully decorated and appreciated it.

"I think so?" Natasha replied hesitantly. I knew she had never experienced a proper Christmas in her youth and only really had short days with Clint's family.

"Yes. You start with the tree, then spread out throughout the house." I explained. They both nodded and Natasha set Harriet down in her playpen by the sofa. We opened our new christmas tree, Steve had brought it home yesterday. We positioned it in the space between the kitchen and living room where there was plenty of room to place presents under it.

"That's fucking tall." Natasha's eyes widened at the extensive fir tree that was opening in front of us.

"It is, isn't it." Steve rubbed the back of his neck seeing the size of it.

"More space to make it look good then!" I beamed, rushing over to the many decorations.

"Lights first." I ordered. Natasha came over to assist with untangling the long string of lights. With a few near misses of ending up on the floor we had the lights ready to put on. We started from the top with Steve's help and worked our way down. Natasha plugged them in and tested them, they glowed a wonderful gold and lit up the room. Next was the tinsel. We draped red and gold across the tree and moved onto the baubles. They were dotted around the huge tree, I got on Natasha's shoulders to hang the ones at the top. She held tightly onto my legs to keep me in place. I couldn't help but laugh as she nearly tripped over the wire connected to the lights. I put my hands under her chin to hold my balance. When I looked up Steve had my phone in his hand, videoing us. We both posed and smiled until Natasha threw me down onto the sofa. I collapsed in a fit of giggles until she helped me up. "Stop laughing! We have pretty golden decorations to put up!" Natasha huffed playfully.

"Yes, ma'am."

Different greenery and other holly style decorations we put through the kitchen and apple spice candles made their way into the living room. After an hour of working hard the main living area was decorated with the large tree, ceiling decorations, christmas blankets and other various things that made me feel like I was in Santa's grotto. Steve gave Harriet a bottle and sat on the sofa with her with cartoons on. I couldn't help but smile as I looked around me. A warm, homey room with three people I cared greatly about. I couldn't have asked for more. I looked down at the ring on my left hand, the white stone was cold against my finger as I fiddled with it.

"Hey." Natasha said quietly as she sat down beside me.

"Hello Darling." I looked at her. My heart jumped at the sight of how gorgeous she was. Her hair was a little messy and fell in waves to her shoulders. The red was fading through into the blonde but she managed to pull it off wonderfully. She tilted her head slightly as she smiled at me, a soft grin that made me blush.
