{Jasper's POV}

Family is everything.

That's something that father drilled into all of our brains. After Aspen was taken and mother betrayed her own family, how am I supposed to believe that? My cold heart hasn't allowed me to. I pushed them away after that mission in Canada, the mission that changed all of our lives. We lost a father and a sibling, it was too much.

The mission was supposed to eliminate a tiny gang in Canada that was trying to cause trouble in our mafia. It was simple enough, infiltrate their headquarters and kill them all.

It didn't end up being simple.

"Caspian, you and Ambrose take team 2 through the back, we'll go through the front. Kill anything breathing and ensure all major targets are executed." Father explains before turning to me. "Jasper, get on the roof, your targets are Fyre Connal, Hudson Keer, and Samson Boar."

"Hudson Keer?" I ask in shock.

What the f*ck is he doing here?

"Yes, is that a problem, son?" Father asks.

"N-no." I reply before quickly turning around and heading to my position.

Once I arrive at my position, the roof of the building beside the warehouse, I load my sniper and watch as my father and his team make their way inside. The guards posted at the front are easily taken down, granting their team access. I watch through the large window of the warehouse and spot the leader of the gang and his son, Romy and Ash Donne. Beside them are my targets and other random gang members I'm guessing. They're having a meeting of some kind.

I start the chaos by firing the first bullet. It breaks the window and hits hits Samson directly in the head. The gang scrambles to pull out their guns and find the source of the bullet. Just as they look towards a dead Samson, I see my father and his team barge in the room. Bullets begin to fly and almost half of the gang is taken down.

I spot my next target, Fyre running towards a back door. Coward. I flawlessly take him down before he can reach the door and focus my attention back on the chaos. A few of our men are down but the small gang easily has more casualties. Caspian's team is yet to be seen which worries me a little bit, but I'm sure they're fine.

I soon see my next target.

Through my scope, I watch Hudson with my finger on the trigger. He shoots at my father and his team and as I watch him, I lightly squeeze the trigger, trying to find the guts to take the shot. I can't seem to bring myself to. I don't even notice my brother take out a girl, but he second the bullet leaves my brother's gun, the energy in the room flips from chaos to sorrow. Romy Donne runs to the girl and Ash Donne starts to cry. Hudson watches the scene emotionlessly before trying to flee, and I let him.

Romy, clutching the girl, pulls out his gun and takes two shots, landing on my brother and father. Out of pure shock, I'm too slow to react and when I fire a bullet, Romy and Ash are gone. Caspian and his team finally barge in the room and he rushes over to my father and brother. I watch the scene emotionlessly, unsure about what the outcome will be and whether my father and brother will survive.
