"Blimey, Dad. How far up are we?" Ron yelled as we climbed the steps of the stands. Dad was about to respond when a cold voice responded from behind.
"Let's put it this way, if it rains, you'll be the first to know." I looked and saw none other than Lucius Malfoy standing there with Draco right on his tail. I curled my lip and glared at the pair.
"Father and I are in the Minister's box, by personal invitation of Cornelius Fudge himself-" Draco was going to continue on, but got cut off as his father jabbed him in the stomach with his cane. Draco let out a sound wince, which made my blood boil.
"Don't boast, Draco, there's no need with ... these people." Lucius snapped at his son while insulting my family once again. Ron could tell I was getting pissed and grabbed ahold of my arm and started to pull me away.
Lucius muttered something to Harry, but I was too busy getting shoved up the stairs by my siblings to hear what he was saying. Once we got settled in our seats, Ludo Bagman started to announce the Mascots.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMAN ... WELCOME! WELCOME TO THE FINAL OF THE FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SECOND QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP!" Ludo Bagman yelled using a projection charm. "And now, without further ado, allow me to introduce ... the Bulgarian Team Mascots!"
"I wonder what they'd brought?" Mr. Weasley said. Suddenly the pitch was filled with about a hundred Veela. I was sitting between Fred and Charlie and they started to lean close to the edge of the barrier to get a better look at them. In fact, all of the boys were. Harry was putting his leg up on the barrier and Hermione quickly pulled him down. Fred and Charlie were getting closer to falling and I grabbed them by their jumpers and threw them back in their seats.
"And now, kindly put your hands in the air ... for the Irish National Team Mascots!" A green and gold comet started to zoom around the stadium, it suddenly broke off into two and started dancing around the pitch. Shimmering Shamrocks were now gliding around above us dropping gold coins into the crowd. I smiled as I grabbed a few pieces of gold.
"And now, ladies and gentlemen, kindly welcome - the Bulgarian National Quidditch Team! I give you - Dimitrov! Ivanova! Zograft! Levski! Vulchanov! Aaaaaaand - KRUM!"
"That's him, that's him!" Ron shouted as Krum flew onto the pitch. All of the boys roared and cheered at the sight of him. He was doing all sorts of tricks on his broom. Fred and George although they were cheering for Ireland were totally falling for Krum.
"And now, please greet - the Irish National Quidditch Team! Presenting - Connolly! Ryan! Troy! Mullet! Moran! Aaaaaaand LYNCH!" The crowd cheered and chanted as the Irish flew onto the pitch. Ginny was screaming and shouting hoping Lynch might actually notice her.
"Theeeeeeey're OFF!" Bagman shouted. "And it's Mullet! Troy! Moran! Dimitrov! Back to Mullet! Troy! Levski! Moran!" The Quaffle going between players so fast, I kept losing track of it. Luckily Fred and Charlie were able to keep up and give me a running commentary. Charlie was cheering on Bulgaria while Fred was cheering Ireland, both of them were being very expressive with their opinions. Charlie swore loudly at Ireland when they scored, and Fred did the same when Bulgaria scored.
Suddenly Harry's voice boomed over both Fred and Charlie's voices. "He's seen the Snitch! He's seen it! Look at him go!" Lynch and Krum, we're now diving towards the small Golden Snitch.
"They're going to crash!" Ginny, Hermione, and I shrieked.
"They're not!" Ron yelled.
"Lynch is!" Harry added. Harry was right, not even a second later Lynch crashed into the ground and was stampeded by the Bulgarian Veelas which were rioting down on the ground.
"The Snitch, where's the Snitch?" Charlie yelled. His inner seeker was showing as his head zapped around the pitch looking for the golden glint.
"He's got it - Krum's got it - the game is over!" Harry shouted. I looked down and saw Krum holding the Snitch up in the air. His face was bloodied up badly his uniform splattered with his blood. The crowd screamed and cheered.'
"They've lost anyway," Fred said.
"What?! No, they haven't they caught the Snitch!" Charlie said.
"Charlie, look at the bloody score!" Fred shouted. I looked up and let out a small chuckle.
"Krum caught the Snitch when Ireland was a hundred and sixty points up. The Snitch is worth a hundred and fifty points." I added pointing towards the board.
"THE IDIOT!"
"They knew they were never going to catch up," I started. Harry has walked over with Ron and was telling him the same thing.
"They had no choice really. It was either play into the night and still lose, or catch the Snitch and own some type of pride." Harry finished as we headed down the stadium. Fred and George peeled off to find Bagman and collect their winnings.
"Don't tell your mother you've been gambling." Mr. Weasley told the twins for the hundredth time in the past ten minutes.
"Don't worry dad, we've got big plans for the money, we don't want it confiscated," Fred said with a smile. Their father eyed them but knew better than ask. None of us were tired and decided to stay up and drink some hot cocoa and dance around before bed.
I was dancing with Fred and George. Harry was sitting on a chair drinking some more hot chocolate, while Hermione and Ginny were sitting on the sofa giggling with each other. Ron was busy talking to Harry for a second, Bill and Charlie were sitting and bickering about the match, while Dad was stoking up the fire in our little heater. He blew out the piece of wood he was using and headed over to the opening of the tent as, what I assume would be cheering, could be heard from outside. As he goes there, Ron got up on the coffee table and started to speak.
"There's no one like Krum!"
"Krum?" George said.
"Dumb Krum!" Fred added as he twirled me away. I feel right onto Charlie and he preceded to tickle me a little bit.
"He's like a bird the way he flies!" Ron says. The twins start flapping like birds around him. "He's more than an athlete! He's an artist!"
"I think you're in love, Ron," Ginny says from her spot beside Hermione. I snickered and nodded.
"Viktor I love youuuuu-" George started.
"Viktor I doooooooo-" Fred joined in. Now everyone in the room joined in.
"When we're apart my heart beats only for youuuu!"We heard loud crashes and screams coming from outside the tent.
"Sounds like the Irish got their pride on!" Bill said with his feet propped up on the coffee table. However, Dad came running in and our laughing stopped immediately.
"Stop! Stop it! It's not the Irish!" He snapped. He ran over and pulled Ginny off of the sofa. "We have to go, NOW!" I jumped and ran outside of the tent. Once outside we could see tents on fire and people running and screaming.
I quickly reached out and grabbed a hand. I didn't care who it was going to be ... I just need someone. I looked over and realized I clutching Percy's hand. He scooted closer and hugged me.
"It's fine, Lori. I doubt it's anything bad." Just as he said that our worst fears were confirmed as a random person came running by screaming at the top of his lungs.
"GET OUT! IT'S THE DEATH EATERS!!!!"
"Bill! Charlie! Percy! Let's go help the Ministry, you lot - get back into the woods, and STICK TOGETHER!" Dad shouted. Percy kissed my hand as he followed Bill and Charlie into the tent to grab their wands.
"FRED! GEORGE!" Dad shouted. "LORI AND GINNY ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES! Now, GO!" He turned and ran off with the boys towards the fire and screams. Fred quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me off towards the woods. Fred at one point let go of my hand and helped pick up Ginny who tripped. I then proceeded to trip and fall to the ground. When I did, my head hit a rock causing my whole world to go dark.
