Chapter fourteen - Dinner with family

I drove out to saddle ranch for dinner that Chase had planned for the six of us, and right when I got into my parking spot I was mobbed by paparazzi. 

Once I got out of my car, I was presented with lots of "Congrats on your Graduation Sophia" meaning they saw my graduation post on instagram from earlier today. 

"Thank you guys!" I said smiling and walked to the enterance of saddle ranch 

"Good evening, reservation?" 

"Hudson" I said 

"Table nine, on your left" 

"Thanks" I said and walked to the assigned table, there I saw Chase, my sisters, and my parents. I felt my stomach going in circles again as I sat between Chase and my sister Karissa 

"Just for tonight, you'll cope with them for one night" Chase said as I slightly nodded and opened up my menu.

"So.. how does it feel living here in L.A Sophia?" Karissa asked as our food orders came in.

"It's not so bad, I honestly miss North Carolina a tad bit but L.A is amazing" I said 

"Don't you think you'll ever move back?" Marlena asked as I took a bite out of my salad. 

"No I don't think so, but if I was forced too maybe I will" I said "but I like it here in L.A-" 

Before I could finish my sentence, I was interupted "Tell us about Vinnie, when did you meet?" 

"Vinnie? I, uh.. we met maybe around two or three months ago?" 

"Oh really? Where?" Mom said as my guts were telling me not to answer

"At the hype house?" 

"So he doesn't live alone?" Dad then replied 

"no?" I said confused

"He isn't a drop out is he?" 

"I'm pretty sure he graduated last year?" 

"So your not sure?" 

"I only met him-" 

"What does he do for a living?" 

"why does that even matter-?" 

"does he plan on going to collage?" 

"I don't know-" 

"does he have a girlfriend?" 

"No?" I said and felt a rush of panic coming in 

"did he play any sports?" 

"Baseball and-" 

"how tall is he?" 

"why would I know that?" 

"Does Vinnie do any strange things?" 

"he's not possesed" 

"Do you plan on dating him?" 

"What"

"Chase didn't I tell you to keep Sophia away from boys?" Dad said as Chase Shrugged 

"I didn't know I had to keep her away from her friends?" 

"Mom, Dad, Vinnie isn't a bad guy like you think, he's actually really kind" 

"You don't know that, he could be leading you into harm and I'm not gonna let you ruin yourself because of him." Dad said as anger rushed into my blood

"Out of respect, I'm not five or six anymore, I don't need you guys deciding who I hang out with, or who I choose to date" 

"You say that but you choose to date Kevin" Mom said as my face went red 

"Mom please" Marlena said putting her fork and knife down "Give Sophia some slack" 

"You know, I only dated Kevin because it was the only way for you to care" I said as I grabbed my bag and stood up "Here's my card, I wouldn't want to be selfish and not pay for the food I ate" I said and slammed my credit card on the table. With slight tears in my eyes, I looked at my parents one last time and left to go back to my car. 

I felt bad for not answering questions from the paparazzi and not taking pictures with fans but I really wasn't in the mood, as tears slipped out of my eyes, flashes from cameras made my eyes hurt. I put my sunglasses on to avoid any rumors about anything happening because I was crying, but as I drove away I got a call from Chase. I didn't answer.

I drove to Nailea's house, since I knew she was there and she would know how to calm me down. I knocked on her door and hoped that she didn't have any visitors. 

as the door swung open, I saw Nai standing there with her phone in her hand. 

"How can I-" she looked up away from her phone and saw my sad face dripping down with tears  "Sophia what happened?" She said as I rushed into her arms and balled my eyes out "It's ok Soph" she said calmin me down

"they never changed.." I muttered still crying. 

"Who? Who never changed love?" 

"My parents.."
