kageyama's pov—

her?

of all people... her?

before kageyama could get any words out of his mouth, he heard atsumu's voice from behind him.

"fuck i thought she would be okay?"

"well damn, if she was really okay then would she have ran out?" suna glared at atsumu. "i knew this was a terrible idea."

"omi!" atsumu groaned with a panicked look on his face. "didn't you text her and said that she was fine now?"

"i expected she was lying—i didn't think you'd actually be dumb enough to let it get this far," sakusa rolled his eyes in exasperation.

"what's going on?"

kageyama looked down to see lana with a questioning look. upon noticing that lana was still in his arms, he quickly let go to release her from the hug.

"you didn't see anything...?" kageyama trailed off, whispering to lana.

"no i didn't...? what did i miss?" lana raised her eyebrow in confusion.

kageyama sighed. but before he could start another response, miya atsumu once again let out an outburst.

"kageyama did you see her?" he ran up to him.

"why didn't you tell me she was here?" kageyama glared at his friend, putting as much disgust as possible in his voice.

"she?" lana nudged kageyama, but he momentarily ignored her questioning gaze.

instead, kageyama walked up to atsumu, who started running out of the gym with suna, sakusa, and osamu.

"lana, go back to the dorms. i'll meet you later," he called back to her, giving her an apologetic look.

"now," kageyama jogged to keep up with atsumu, "what the fuck is she here for?"

atsumu ran a hand through his hair in anxiety. "yeah well...she happens to be going to this school as well."

"what?" kageyama looked at him dangerously. "and you didn't think to tell me this earlier?"

"to be fair," suna cut in, "it was—and still isn't—none of your business whether she's here or not."

"bullshit," kageyama snapped. "why is that bitch here again?"

suna's gaze coldened at kageyama's words. "watch your tone," he snapped back.

the only time he and suna ever got into any type of a disagreement was when it involved her.

"kageyama, not to be rude, but i think you should leave for now," sakusa sighed.

"i'm not leaving until i get an explanation."

"what's there to fucking explain?" atsumu groaned. he looked towards suna and osamu, the panic evident in his voice. "shit. we need to get to her now."

without another word, the twins and suna both picked up their speed and ran out of the gymnasium building.

kageyama was about to follow, when another voice stopped him.

"kageyama. don't."

kageyama looked back to see sakusa with a warning look. "it won't help anyone if you show up," sakusa said lightly.

"maybe i don't want to help."

"and that's exactly why i can't let you follow them."

kageyama glared at his friend. "you knew about this?"
