Chapter 6

You sneak out of your room pulling alongside your small friend. The hallways are dark and empty. Not even a single soul is nearby.

'Hey, Rosa. Do you know where the others sleep?'

The classic shake.

'Well, it's not like I expected that you do. Who needs an actual idea of what they're doing anyway?'

After some searching you find a hallway which leads to the knight's dorms. Standing in front of the door with Amber's name sign, you prepare yourself to knock at it. Before your hand can hit the wood, Rosa jumps in-between.

'What's wrong now?'

It points at the name sign and sits down on the ground pretending to sleep.

'Is it already that late? You're telling me this quite early, do you know that? We have been wandering through this building for some time and now you tell me that my efforts are fruitless?'

Rosa floats up and shrugs with its ears.

You sigh. 'Sorry for snapping at you. I didn't look at the clock.'

Because of your apology the orb rubs itself on your cheek signaling you that it isn't mad.

'How about we take a stroll outside. I could need that fresh air.'

The two of you head outside and sit down on an empty bench. In silence you and Rosa watch the stars. They remind you of how far you're probably from your home. You grip the necklace which still lingers around your neck.

Taking a deep breath you put aside the feeling of loneliness and uncertainty.

'No (Y/N), don't get lost in your thoughts again, or else Kaeya will somehow give you your third heart attack for today. Even if your life is pure chaos now, the chaos has so much potential!'

You jump up and give your companion a confident look. 'Yes, that's right! Rosa we will travel through Teyvat and see every single of the seven nations! We don't even need god knows how much storage space! We will find the traveler and have the greatest adventure of our life, right?'

Rosa joins your positive mood and makes similar movements to a cheerleader with its ears.

The energetic moment is interrupted by something like an explosion. Out curiosity you two run towards the source of the noise.

A burning phoenix rises up to the sky. It's Diluc who beats up a pair of Abyss Mages.

'The regular five-star who never came home...'

Even though you watch the scene from a safe distance, a mage notices you and ports itself behind you. Before you can react, you are trapped inside a water bubble.

'If I realistically think about it, maybe I will die before I finish my journey...'

The red-haired male spots you and charges at the Hydro Abyss Mage to free you from the bubble you're in.

You close your eyes and await the possible impact. The fight around you continues and after a minute the bubble bursts, setting you free.

Your fall is stopped by a certain male who catches you in his arms. His body emits a peasant warmth. Opening up your eyes, you directly look into Diluc's golden eyes which stare back at you.

Like that you two remain for a long moment. The male seems so deep in thoughts that he forgot to put you back down.

'Could you... maybe put me down?', you ask hesitantly.

Diluc notices the situation you're in and  does as you wish with a slight blush resting on his face.

Rosa floats behind the male and creates a heart with its ears. If it had a face it would probably smirk mischievously.

'Come here you little shít.' You try to grab the Seelie but without success as it can float as high as it wants. The Darkknight observes you with slight confusion as he didn't see what happened behind his back and since he didn't expect you to get angered so quickly.

After getting tired of jumping up and down you admit defeat and let yourself fall down on the ground.

Diluc approaches you. 'Are you hurt?'

You shake your head.

'Well then, goodbye. Just to make that clear: You never saw me here nor did anything of this ever happen.', your savior says while he goes away without waiting for any response.

You yawn. 'Now I am at least tired enough to sleep despite not getting the information I originally wanted... Hey Rosa, do you want to carry me back to the headquarters?'

Silence.

Chuckling you stand up and stretch yourself. 'Yeah I know that that's impossible but it would have been interesting to be carried through Mondstadt by a small pink ball... Wait, he went away before I got the chance to thank him! Maybe we should visit his winery in the future to properly thank him...'

You yawn again. 'Let's get some sleep for real this time. We have a lot to do tomorrow.'  

The night continues and you finally get the sleep you deserve. Another day closer to the catastrophe.

Guess who got Amos' Bow instead of Kazuha T.T
