All the guys around the table stare at me blankly as I take a sip of water. Talking so much made my throat feel dry as a desert.

I keep the glass down and continue" As I was saying, there were no security cameras in the school building to confirm nor did anyone see Morgan go inside. This brings us to two possibilities. One, She has an alley. While she went into hiding, she had someone else do it in her place. Two, she's moving around in disguise. Changing up her looks."

"I think it's pretty obvious that it's the latter one. According to the records, she doesn't have any friends in school and wasn't much of a social person." Fred says.

"Exactly. This may get tricky if our target keeps on wearing new faces. Now, about the other bullies. Did you sent some of the men to stake out in front of their houses like I requested?" I ask walter.

"Yeah. The families were all worried that their kid might be next. So I-" Embarrassingly, his phone starts to ring.

"Walter" I say unamused. I told them a million times to put their phones on silent mode in meetings.

"I am so sorry about that" he says as he declines the call and mutes his phone.

He then continues " Umm As I was saying if Morgan is planning on taking revenge on anyone who wronged her then we know where she'll attack next and be prepared"

While that may be the case, what I'm personally concerned about is her location. I'm sure Lydia knows it. That brat is having fun watching me struggle to find the girl. An innocent one no less, who I must claim to be guilty. Anyhow, thanks to what Lydia did today, I now know that Morgan was there at school and in disguise.

"Any update on the hit and run driver from the video?" I ask.

They all nervously look at each other. Don't tell me...

"Sir, that camera was old so the video wasn't clear enough to figure out the plate number. The tech teams still on it." One of them says.

I frown. I've been under a lot of stress lately, especially today with that new murder and the media. Now I'm hearing we we haven't even found the driver!? Our only lead to Morgan.

"That Kidnapping happened yesterday! Why is this taking so long! What was that tech team doing the whole day!?" I yell at them, frustrated.

"They umm said there was a malfunction in their equipment so it-" Walter says but gets interrupted but the sound of his phone vibrating loudly on the table.

"SERIOUSLY WALTER!?" This is starting to get on my nerves.

"I am extremely sorry" he says as he picks up his phone.

I sigh and calm myself "If it's something important then why don't you just take the call."

"No, it's not important. Really." He says awkwardly as he stuffs the phone in his pocket.

"Anyway, if they're on it now, how much longer will it take for them to get the plate number?" I ask. I think I'm starting to get a headache.

"They're not certain but I assure you sir, as soon as we get that number we'll quickly find the guy." Fred says calmly.

I'm not assured at all.

"Ok so for the time being, make sure to get regular updates from the men posted outside the bullies house. Anything out of the ordinary or-"

"Liar"

I stop. I turn around to where the voice came from. There's no one. The glass on the wall reflects my face. Pale as if I'd seen a ghost.

"Sir?" One of the guys says.

I turn back to them and compose myself "Ahem. Well that's all for today. You can go now." I say and quickly walk towards the door as they look at me with confused stares.

I go to the washroom and close the door behind me. Walking towards the counter, I look at myself in the mirror. I look so worn out and stressed. Although my face still looks shaken up after what happened back then.

That voice...what was that about? Did someone in the room say it? No...it wasn't one of them. That was a child's voice.

I turn on the faucet and wash my face. This seriously isn't happening is it? Don't tell me I'm starting to hear voices now. Am I going crazy?

The washroom door opens and Walter enters.

"Yeah, you do look worn out." He laughs and walks up to the counter too. He turns on the faucet and washes his hands. He talks freely with me when we're alone as if we're best friends. I don't remember ever giving him any indication of even wanting to be near him.

"Hey, why don't you take a break? You've been handling everything since morning without rest." He says. The sound of a flushing toilet fills the room and a man from one of the stalls comes out. He washes his hands and leaves.

"I'm fine. I don't need rest." I splash water on my face once again.

"You definitely don't seem fine. Look, Zane, you won't be able to give it your all if you don't take a break. You've been working so hard. Go home and come in the morning. It's already late. Don't worry, me and the guys will be here till the next shift so relax." He says, insisting.

In all honesty, I desperately need rest right now. Want to be away from this back breaking work. But I also gotta save my image as a diligent and hard-working policeman. I think I'll just go since he insists.

I sign is frustration "Fine. But if anything comes up you NEED to call me. Got it?"

He grins and walks away from the counter to the door. "Yeah, chill out. I'll call you." He says and leaves.

As I'm walking out of the police station, I hear a woman's voice.

"Fraud"

I look around. There's no one except the guards at the gate. What's going on? Why do I keep hearing things? I suppose I really do need to rest.

I go towards the parking lot and look for my car. Finding it, I go it and get inside.

After starting the car, I begin to drive towards home, eager to get to bed quickly.
