"Hey sis", I greeted Sophia as she laid a hand on my back and stood beside me.

"Hey." Sophia smiled. "We finally meet", she said to the Elites.

I started to worry. Isabella and Teressa looked like they were going to faint. The fact that Tamara also showed up, made them look like they were going to have a heart attack.

"Ooooo, something's going on here." Tamara wrapped an arm around my shoulder. Now both of my sisters stood on either side of me. "I'm Tamara. Nice to meet ya!", she greeted the six.

The next thing we know, everyone started introducing themselves. The guys just said their names, no handshakes, nothing. Teressa and Isabella had quite a hard time doing so but, eventually, managed after a few stutters. Sophia and Tamara knew exactly who each of them was, but didn't want to come off as rude or anything.

"Well, I heard my name mentioned. I'm joining what now?", Sophia asked after introductions.

"I invited the two ladies for dinner on Wednesday, after you and I are done with our businesses", I said. "Is that alright?", I whispered asked, Sophia.

Sophia nodded. "That'd be great. We'll get to know each other."

"You want to join babe?", I asked Tamara.

"I'll have to take a rain check. Only you girls are going to have dinner? What about you guys?", Tamara asked the four males, who just stood behind the two girls.

"Let's make it strictly a girls-only dinner", Isabella stated.

"I like her", Tamara chuckled.

Isabella smiled, slightly.

"Well, I have to excuse myself. I'll see you around", I said.

"Ok. I'll  . . text you?", Teressa asked hesitantly.

"Anytime you want." I winked.

I started walking away and my sisters followed after bidding goodbye to the Elites. Truthfully, I excused myself because I started feeling a bit weird when I noticed the guys staring directly at me. Except, Charles.

"You're right, they seem nice", Sophia said after we made a turn around a corner.

"They do", Tamara agreed.

"Good." I honestly didn't know what to say.

We were walking back to our rooms until we saw a brunette being pushed to the ground by a blonde. My sister's and I halted in our steps. The blonde pointed her finger at the brunette and started saying something, but we couldn't hear from this distance.

"Hey, that's the brunette that sat next to me in psychology", Tamara said.

I was debating about stepping in, for sure Sophia was too. Tamara was about to approach but the brunette stood up and walked away.

"School drama on the first day", Sophia said.

"Tick", I mumbled.

"I sense different. Capable, maybe", Tamara said when we started walking.

"We are not recruiting", Sophia stated sternly.

"Of course not, I mean we don't even know the girl. But what if we got to know her?", Tamara asked.

Sophia and Tamara looked at me.

"To just . .  befriend? Or . . . ", I asked.

"Things escalate towards unknown directions. We have to be cautious. Don't trust people so easily", Sophia told.

"True", I agreed.

"Well - we did come here to make new friends. If she doesn't pass our vibe check, then forget it", Tamara reasoned.

I and Sophia glanced at each other. We were both unsure.

"I mean it wouldn't hurt to talk to her", I said.

❇❇❇

"The first day . . . was perfect. I love my classes and met some very nice people", I said while looking up at the stars.

Sitting on the stone bench, in the garden, I gazed up at the stars. Speaking to the one person I know, who will always be there for me and was now watching over me.

"I miss you. Every single day." My voice was starting to crack. "If only I knew that loving would hurt this much."

"So you are broken", I was a little startled by the sudden voice.

How come I didn't notice someone was here?

Luca appeared out of nowhere and stood a few steps away from me.

I chuckled. "Surprised?"

He didn't answer. Just stared. He was trying to read me, again.

"Keep trying to read me. You won't find anything."

"Don't be so sure."

I just laughed lightly and looked back up at the stars.

The light from the moon reflected in my eyes.

Please. Don't tear up.

I felt him take a seat beside me.

"Are you trying to drill a hole into the side of my head?", I asked without looking at him.

"I just might, if that's what's needed to get through you." His deep voice started to set goosebumps on my skin.

"We've only known each other for two days. Why so curious about me?"

"Just am."

I couldn't help but chuckle. "Can't blame you. A lot of people are. I give the mysterious, weird girl kind of aura."

Silence.

We both sat there in silence for the next 10 minutes. However, the silence wasn't awkward nor uncomfortable. It was nice, the two of us just stared up at the stars.

"It's getting late. You should go back to your room", he said before getting up.

Seconds later, I stood up as well. I was about to turn toward Luca to say goodnight but he was already walking away.

"I'm not the only one who's broken." I watched his back frame from the distance. He stopped walking.

He turned to face me. His eyebrows furrowed and I just walked past him. His eyes followed my every step. I turned back around and smiled.

"Good night, Luca." I walked away.

While walking down the hall, I couldn't help but think about Luca. I know he's troubled and has problems but I was curious to know more.

No. I. Don't. I. Don't.

The less I know about other people, the better. The fewer people know about me, the safer. But I now realized, I may have befriended some of the Elites, and Tamara wants to try befriending that brunette.

Was having friends even a good idea?

I mean father and mother encouraged us to make new friends. To get a normal school life. Feel like a normal teenager. The only friends in my life were my three girls and literally my entire house staff, including my bodyguards. The only best friends in my life were Sophia and Tamara, and somebody else. I had enough. But that made me feel guilty because I wanted more.

Much more.
