"Where do you think you're going?" Winter raised her eyebrows at the girl who's planning to take her leave, early in the morning

"Hi... Winter," She awkwardly greeted

"Food is ready, let's eat." Winter motioned her head to the side, telling Karina to go first before her

"Eat, you puked your whole system last night," Winter ordered

It's only the two of them in the kitchen table, with an unknowingly uncomfortable silence. Like they're on a blind date

"Did I do something last night?" Karina asked, avoiding her gaze as much as she could

Winter took a glance at her, "You don't remember anything from last night?"

"No,"

"That's good," Winter sighed in relief

"How is that a good thing?" Karina furrowed her eyebrows

"Because you wouldn't know what I said and you wouldn't know what mess you made,"

Karina gripped the hem of her skirt tightly, "I need to go,"

"To where exactly?" Winter raised her eyebrow

"Why do you care?" Karina hissed

"Just because," Winter replied nonchalantly

In just a month, the table have switched between the two. Karina is now more in the hotseat while Winter is the annoying one.

"Until when are you planning to ignore us Karina?" Winter harshly puts down the utensils down the table as she sharply stare at the girl

Karina gulped continously, finding the girl intimidating and attractive at the same time.

"What are you hiding from us?" Winter squinted her eyes at the latter

"Why do you care? It's not like we're friends," Winter became surprised after she said that

They were filled with a long defeaning silence until she broke the tensing atmosphere

"You look horrible," Winter commented

"Yeah, and I feel terrible too so don't mention it," Karina shifted her head to the side

"Spill it," Winter sat beside her

"I had considered you and Giselle as my friends soon as you stepped foot in this house," Winter whispered to her

Karina started fidgeting her fingers, tears are slowly forming in her eyes.

"I don't deserve this kind of friendship.. I always end up disappointing everybody." Karina cried out, trying her best to stifle her sobs.

"Hmm, does your problem concern me?" Winter guessed

Karina looked at her with eyes pleading guilty.

"I see," Winter scoffed

"So, what is it?" Winter tried her best to understand her side, in just a month and a half she already knew the girl. Karina is really nice but can be really naughty sometimes

"My friends made a bet about you and me... they said if I can form a friendship with you they'll pay me," Karina revealed

Winter gasped, slowly getting disappointed at the reason but before she can even speak Karina continued

"I didn't do it for the money, Winter. I don't need money... I've always wanted to make friends with you and I thought that was the chance so I did my best to get closer to you. That night at the rooftop was no coincidence. I locked the door myself," Karina stated while sniffing

Winter nodded her head, trying her best to understand the situation eventhough she's struggling herself.

"But why? Why me?"

"I don't know," Karina chuckled bitterly, "I just found myself getting pulled by your magnet, and suddenly I wanted to become someone you can lean on.. lame I know."

"Is that the only thing you're bothered about? I should tell you, I'm not mad. A little upset maybe because you didn't approach me like how people should normally do when they wanted to be friends with someone," Winter laughed a little

"Even if I try you would just walk away, who are you kidding?" Karina laughed along with her while wiping her tears

"That's true," Winter scoffed

"So.. why were you avoiding us?" Winter opened the topic

"I wasn't... or maybe I did but I wasn't aware. I only plan on ignoring you because I'm getting eaten by guilt by that 'bet' I made with my friends," Karina clenched her fist, feeling guilty again

Winter taps her shoulder lightly, "Don't call them your friends, they don't deserve that title."

"Do you still want to say something? Anything... I'm all ears," Winter smiled cheekily

"Why are you suddenly so nice?" Karina asked

Winter think deeply, 'Right, why am I suddenly being so nice?'

"I don't really know probably because I pity your ass." She joked

Karina pouted, "I'm kidding. Ryujin and I talked, she's also in the same situation as you right now! Tough days when she opens up yesterday her words hit me and I figured I should look on the bright side rather than the dark one. She told me to stop being so pessimistic about things... and I realized she was right. So, I'm trying to change I guess?"

"That's good for you, good for us. We'll get along just as fine," Karina sniffs

"Who told you that? I will never stop giving you the cold shoulders at school," Winter stuck her tounge out while Karina rolled her eyes as she laughs

"It's fine with me as long as you treat me this good in your house," Karina smiled widely, the heavy feeling on her heart is still there but atleast she's happy at the moment.

"Karina," Winter called.

"Hm?" She hummed

"You can always talk to me, or to Giselle or Ningning... I saw the slits on your wrists, please don't do it again." Winter wanted to hug the girl but something is stopping her from doing that

Karina smiled weakly, "When did you see it?"

"Last night when I took your flannel off, is that why you were wearing longsleeves for the past weeks? Since when did you start hurting yourself?" Winter sounded... hurt and concern

Karina forced a smile, "I won't do it again."

Winter inhaled a huge amount of deep breath, gathering some courage about what she's about to do next

It is not her thing, she's always hated touching someone or being touched but this was different she needs to do something to comfort her so she embraced Karina with a long warm hug.

"I'm your friend... you can always tell me when something's bothering you," Winter stated while caressing her back

Karina brokedown the second time on Winter's shoulders, she hugged her back tightly as her shoulders move up and down because of how hard she tried to stifle her sobs... at last she found peace... in Winter's arms she felt safe and sound.
