「 19:45 — SPORT COMPLEX . VOLLEYBALL COURT 」

as you were all gathered in the
gym, kiyoko, much to your surprise
was playing as well and was helping
you out with stretching along
with ari.

the intimidating sound of the ball
hitting the ground reached your
ear. it could almost make you shiver
from the echo it produced around
the gym.

it clouded your mind thinking
that you would be actually playing with no
experience at all. luckily, you had ari,
kiyoko and kimiko to help you out
with the basics.

saito kimiko
"have you ever played before?"

you looked at kimiko, copying her
stretch position, extending your arm out to
the far left while using your other hand
to hold it steady.

"no, i always just watched
the games."

"one time, i met one of the
players, kyotani."

"he got some suspended time
off because of his behavior,
but it led me to meeting the rest
of the team at one point."

"so i guess i know the gist
of it?"

kimiko laughed, doing the same position
but to the far right.

saito kimiko
"you've never even
played around with
the ball?"

"nope."

"from the passing drills
you just did with me, that
was the only time."

she hummed.

saito kimiko
"well, like they said,
this is just rec so it won't
be too much for you."

saito kimiko
"and when i'm around playing
with them, they don't make
any risky moves so you should
be okay."

"how'd you get into
volleyball?"

she smiled, stretching her arms
out behind her back.

saito kimiko
"uh, i'm a single child so
i spent most of time with
my cousins, kiyoomi and
motoya."

saito kimiko
"toya was the first one
who was already playing
volleyball."

saito kimiko
"he got me and kiyoomi
into so we just started playing
together."

saito kimiko
"then we obviously played for
itachiyama teams. i was a middle
blocker for the girls team."

saito kimiko
"and right now, i'm kinda in the
same boat as 'samu... i had fun in
highschool, but i don't love it as
much as them and wanna pursue
something else."

"i get it."

you grinned.

"i was the same with
track, but i quit during
my second year because
i wasn't happy."
