Shaylas P.O.V
I sat on the couch sipping wine and waiting. Stephen had called me yesturday saying he was coming over today and I agreed to see him. I sent Bethany to Alecks's house because I still don't know if I can trust Stephen around her.
I sat tapping the wine glass with my index finger staring at the clock. With every minute my stomach tied in tighter knots. I still wasn't sure if I wanted to do this.
About an hour later there was a knock on the door. I looked at the clock. 5pm. Bethany would be back in an hour so Stephen had to leave in a hour. I opened the door and he stood there smiling at me. "Well hellooooo" he chuckled. "Hi" I said softly. I then opened the door wider giving him room to enter my home. He made himself comfortable on my couch and I grabbed another wine glass from the kitchen. "So darling. How ya been?" He asked as I sat the wine glass on the table and plopped on the couch. "Fine" I mumbled and poured some wine in my glass then his. I handed him the glass and he placed his hand on it pushing it back a little.
"Got anything stronger?" He asked "and don't say no because I know that you do....alcohol is your thing." "Its not my thing anymore" I said walking back to the kitchen. I drunk the wine out of his glass then washed the glass out. "Mhmm" he chuckled. I glared at him then pulled some Moonshine out of our alcohol cabinet.
"So your husband." Stephen began. "Is he an alcoholic?" "I wouldn't say he's an alcoholic" I said pouring some Moonshine into his glass. "But he likes his alcohol" I put the Monnshine back up. "Is he nice to you?" He asked as I sat next to him and handed him his glass. "Yeah" I answered as I watched him knock the Moonshine back. "Nice" he said nodding his head.
"Why do you want to know about my husband?" I asked. "Just wondering" he answered. We sat quietly for a minute then he proceeded with more questions. "What does he do for a living?" "He's in a band" I said then took a sip of wine. "Really? No wonder you have this nice rich people house" I chuckled a bit at his comment. "So your famous?" He asked. "Not really famous just....known I guess" I answered. He nodded. "That's good for you. You deserve it." He said and I smiled. Never in a million years would I think he would treat me this way.
"How's Alecks?" He asked. "She's great" I answered not going in detail. He didn't need to know everything about her. "Is she still a bitch?" He chuckled and I glared at him. "She's not a bitch!" I snapped. "Watch your tone!" He said a bit loudly. I paused at what he said. "I'm a grown woman you don't tell me what to d-" I was interrupted by his hand slapping my face.
I looked at him in shock and felt an anger fall over me. Before I knew it I had slapped him back. He gently touched the part of his face that I slapped then looked up at me with angry eyes. He grabbed my neck and squeezed it tightly with both hands. Fear shot through me as I realized I was being choked. "You filthy bitch" he said as he choked me with all his might. I tugged at his hands trying to release myself from his grip but he wouldn't budge."You don't touch me! Who do you think you are!?" As I started to grow weak he released his grip and picked me up off of the couch. I was too weak to try to fight back so I just went along with it. He slammed me into a wall then grabbed my arm and pushed me into the table where I landed on my wine glass. I screamed out in pain as I felt some glass stab into my back. "This will teach you not to fuck with me again!" He yelled. "I'll be back next week" and with that he left.
I laid in pain for about twenty minutes when I heard someone knock on my door. "C-come in...please" I said as loudly as I could realizing it was probably Alecks but apparently I hadnt said it loud enough because she knocked again. "H-help!" I yelled. "Shayla!?" I heard Alecks ask in shock then her spare key jiggled in the door. I tried to lean up as she walked in but it was to painful. I ran my hand down my back and felt about six sharp pieces of glass. More than I thought was there.
"Oh my god Shayla!" Alecks said in shock as she ran up to me. "What happened to you?" "Stephen" I managed to get out. She gently lifted me onto the couch. "I've gotta get this glass out of your back" she said softly. "Mommy?" Bethany asked. "Baby go to your room...now" I said sternly and she did as she was told. Alecks began pulling the pieces of glass out of my back.
The pain wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...but it still hurt. Once all the pieces were out of my back she looked at me with a serious face. "I'll kill him" she said. "If he ever hurts you again....I'll kill him"
