Kehlani: m-mom..?
???: are you gonna let me in or not?
Kehlani: uh..yeah.. sorry come in
she stepped out of the way and in came a very slim, tall woman. kehlani looked a lot like her, same eye color, and everything. they could basically be twins.
Kehlani: when did you get back from the states?
???: i landed a few hours ago
she looked over at quinn who was slouching back in the couch with her leg draped over the arm of the couch. then she looked over at me.. with my face stuffed with pancakes. I quickly drank some milk and swallowed them down, almost choking
???: so what are you guys, charity cases?
she looked over at kehlani
???: I buy this food specifically for you, and you're over here giving it to other people?
Kehlani: mom..
???: this is unacceptable, kehlani
kehlani sighed
Kehlani: this is my friend quinn, and this is my boyfriend, Josiah
???: boyfriend? I thought I told you no dating until you were completely done with your studies
Kehlani: how old were you when you and dad had me?
???: ...
Kehlani: mm, right
she walked away from her mother and came to sit back down.
Kehlani: if you want pancakes grab some, unless all these carbs don't fit in your diet.
she somehow managed to make that sound very cold
???: what, are you not going to introduce me?
she slightly looked at me and then turned around in her chair to face her mom
Kehlani: this is my mother, Erika
that's all she said and then turned back around to eat her pancakes. quinn and I exchanged glances and sat there awkwardly
Josiah: it's nice to meet y-
Erika: who gave you permission to speak?
if it weren't kehlanis mother, I would've clapped back so quick
Kehlani: if you're not going to let them speak why bother with an introduction?
Erika: i'm going to need you to stop with the attitude, kehlani
Kehlani: right, well, we're leaving anyways
Erika: I just got here, you're leaving me alone?
Kehlani: you're a big girl, you can take care of yourself, can't you?
she smiled
Erika: ...
kehlani grabbed my plate and hers and placed them in the sink. quinn and I both got up and we left her house. I looked at quinn and she signaled for me to go over and talk to kehlani who as walking ahead of us
Quinn: let's go to my house so you can shower
I nodded and she left
Josiah: lani
she kept walking
Josiah: kehlani
I grabbed her hand and she stopped. I pulled her over to me and lifted her face to meet with mine.
Josiah: why are you upset?
Kehlani: ..she's just so.. arrogant
she softly said
