Kugisaki's face immediately lit up with joy, beads of glossy tears forming at the corner of her eyes. Worry was apparent in them.

The blazing, midday sun poured through the clinic's window, illuminating her bright orange hair. While the air was sultry, the golden star filled the torrid room with heat.

"You're awake!" Kugisaki exclaimed, causing you to stifle a chuckle.

For the first time in a while, you woke up perfectly alright. You remembered everything. From the alleyway incident, to when you were in your innate domain and Akane. Next to you, you heard Inumaki's voice,

"Are you alright?"

Glancing over at your right hand, you noticed that Inumaki's hands were clasped with yours. Upon realization, he pulled away, his cheeks tinted with a light pink.

"Why aren't you using your onigiri language?" You asked, tilting your head from curiosity.

Both Inumaki and Kugisaki looked at you in confusion, Kugisaki replying,

"But he is?"

"Yeah," Inumaki followed.

Then you realized. Behind Inumaki's voice was another voice saying "salmon". It was so faint that you could barely hear it.

You could understand him. But how?

Suddenly, a slide of the door creaked and your enthusiastic teacher came bursting into the room. You grumbled, I can never rest, huh?

"Oh, she's awake!" Gojo chimed, running over to you.

Scanning you, you noticed Gojo's eyebrows raise. It was as if he was confirming something.

"It really is different," You heard Gojo softly mutter.

Tugging onto Gojo's sleeves, you waved your hands, gesturing him to lean forward. Once he did, you whispered into his ears,

"I can understand Inumaki."

With a confounded look in his face, Gojo pulled back as he confirmed what you had just said,

"You can understand Inumaki?"

You felt both Kugisaki and Inumaki's stares at you, stupefied at what they heard.

"Yeah," You replied, your throat still dry and sore.

"We should inform Ieri about this," Inumaki advised, as the doctor was not here.

When you realized that both Kugisaki and Gojo either didn't understand or heard him, you coughed out,

"Ieri."
