OMARI'S HANDS WERE TREMBLING as he buttoned up his suit jacket. It was the day for the results of the DNA to be read. They were going to court today. This could potentially be his baby, or it could not be. He didn't know how to feel. If he would be happy, hurt or crushed.

"Calm down, son." Collins said, patting Omari on the back.

"Easier said than done, pops. I did so much for this girl and she cheated on me. She can be pregnant with a child that's not mine. I can't be calm."

"I know," He said, but he didn't. He's never been in a situation where that was done to him. He couldn't even imagine the pain his son was in. "But no matter what, you have me and your mom and family who cares about you. If anything, you should be hoping this is not your child. Gives you a chance to escape this mess of a girl and find a good woman who won't do something like this to you."

Omari just glanced at his dad but didn't say anything. Part of him was kind of hoping it was his kid. Maybe he would be looked at as a bitch or a punk for even still wanting this to happen. But he put so much into this relationship. The child would at least be something worth all the headache and pain he went through.

Omari and his parents got in the car. Even though they were taking Omari's car, he sat in the back seat while his father drove and his mother sat in the passenger seat. He wasn't in the right frame of minding to be driving right now.

Omari looked out the window, praying that God didn't break his heart anymore than it already was.

Inola was smiling down at her daughter, who was sleeping. She was wrapped in a blanket, in her arms. Her chubby cheeks framed her strawberry head and thick eyelashes. She had given birth three months prior and everything with the birth had gone smoothly. Inola's only concern she'd had about the pregnancy was that the baby would come out deaf—but luckily she hadn't.

The three month old's name was Jade, but there was no last name as of yet. Once they found out who the father was, that would be the name placed on the birth certificate. French stood next to her, just staring at the child.

For the last three months she had been with him. He did see this baby as his child. It would devastate him if she wasn't. He needed her to be. He couldn't get a feel for who she looked like to be honest. Because she looked like herself. She was a newborn, she had more weight and skin on her face then she did facial features for him to make a decision on who she favored.

Inola looked next to her at French and he gave her a quick smile. He was nervous as well and she could tell. Inola didn't even know who's baby she rather this be. She just wanted the results. They were in the courtroom, waiting for Omari to show up. He had five more minutes before they read the results without him. The court was running on a schedule and had other paternity tests to do.

"You wan hole her?" Inola spoke since she was holding the baby and couldn't use her hands to sign.

French just shook his head from side to side. He didn't feel like doing any of that right now. He didn't want to talk or sign. This was giving him anxiety, he just wanted to get this over with. However, he did bend down and kiss Jade's forehead. He's been with her from the start, but this could be his last day with her. Whether she was his child or not, the child did give him some type of happiness. So he would always be grateful for that.

The court doors opened and in walked Omari and his parents. Inola and French didn't even notice because they were too engrossed with the baby. The place was empty, just Inola and French on her side and he had his parents with him. Neither party had a large group.
