"I already told you this story." Minsun said, staring at the photo album she had found, with more pictures of her father and his family from when Mark was young. "Jihyung picked up his vare in the forest one day. It was nothing special, not a family heirloom or anything. I'm pretty sure your vare is more powerful than his."

I don't think someone with a regular vare can freeze a quarter of the forest, Xun thought but decided not to say it out loud.

"Have you ever seen his powers before?" Xun asked the girl. "I know you two don't get to work on them a lot but surely you've played around here and there."

"Mmm, I think he's just a natural like us." Minsun responded. Xun flinched as Minsun looked up, staring right at him. "Why? Did something bad happen during training? Is he not like the rest of us?"

Xun quickly raised his hands up defensively. "No no, not at all. He's doing well, you should be proud of him."

"Ah, that's good to hear." Minsun said, nodding her head. She leaned forward, showing Xun the pictures of her father, looking up at him. "So, do you get to look at childhood pictures of your parents too?"

"Mmm, my mother and her brother were quite adorable as children." Xun said, staring at the pictures of Mark and his younger sister. "They could compete with your father."

As Xun admired the photos though, he couldn't help but get an eerie feeling as he looked at one of Mark's sister.

Is it the fact that they have the same vare or is there something more?

"Who's that?" Xun asked, motioning to a picture of Mark's sister and another man he didn't recognize. She was holding his arm, the two of them smiling as they stared into each other's eyes. He seems familiar, I just can't place from where.

"Oh, that's Jungwoo." Minsun said, motioning to the man. "The one who owned your vare and Grace's lover. Have you never seen pictures of him?"

Xun shook his head. "No, never. He's from Luminosa, right? My family doesn't have many pictures of him. I think this one is it."

"My parents don't either." Minsun let out a deep sigh. "The only reason why I know what he looks like is because of my dreams."

"Your dreams?" Minsun nodded.

"It's weird. I can feel everything Grace felt in those moments, read her thoughts. I don't know what she wants or if she's calling out for me. All I know is that I want to find out the reason why this keeps happening as soon as possible."

"I'm sure you will." Xun said, giving Minsun a pat on her shoulder. The girl smiled at him before turning back to the photo album, continuing to look through it.

Xun couldn't help but take his own vare out, staring at the golden pocket watch.

What kind of life did you live, Kim Jungwoo?

...

"You're late."

"I'm sorry." Mark said, settling down beside her. "I was helping dad with some work and it took a lot longer than I thought."

Is this another one?

"You should have just cancelled then." She told him, finally looking up. "Then maybe you would have saved some time."

She pushed her chair back and Mark already knew what she was planning. He quickly grabbed her arm, stopping her.

"Please, I need this." Mark said, trying his best to sound like he wasn't begging. "Dad's going to test me tomorrow and if I don't answer correctly, I'm screwed."

"Maybe you should be studying instead of seeing your girlfriend all the time." She mumbled under her breath, pulling some books out.

"Jisun is a good person to spend time with." Mark argued. "There's no harm in seeing her every now and then."

Jisun... That's... mom.

"Uh huh, that's why I have to cover for you every time you visit Dealain with her without father's permission." She retorted.

Minsun, can you hear me?

Mark stayed silent, watching as she shoved a book in front of his face. "Tell me about Luminosa."

Wait, that voice... Who is it?

"That's the realm of light. They use a monarchy government structure that is like ours. They are the leaders of the light realm, and arguably the most powerful realm in Orenda." Mark responded.

It's me. Do you know who I am?

"Which event do they host each year?" She continued, showing no reaction to the first answer.

Who are you? Your voice... It's familiar but-

"The ball." Mark answered. "The Summer Solstice Ball. It's a grand event where all four light realms are invited to celebrate the longest day of the year. It's the largest ball and people spend all year looking forward to it."

You need to focus on me. Where have you heard this voice before?

"Right." She said, moving her books aside as she pulled a white and gold envelope out from the back of the book. The realization soon hit Minsun.

I know who you are.

"What is that?" Mark asked, looking away. The white and gold was clearly beginning to bother him, too bright for a realm like his.

Good job, Minsun. Find me. You need to find me before it's too late.

"Looks like the King of Luminosa decided to invite the dark realms this year."
