A Wall

a solid foundation
has divided our thoughts.
we are no longer
connected at heart and hip.
we're barely together
and our thoughts wander apart.
it hurts me to know
that we'll never be associated
as one ever again.
we constructed a wall
and we used
lies, secrets, jealousy
as materials.

after thinking it over,
the only ways to wreck
our own creation
would be to wreck ourselves.
to bring the Frankenstein down,
we would need force to end the love
because the wall wouldn't
have anything to feed off of.
or we could take the wall apart
using trust, honesty and care.
the only thing to decide
what path to take
is how much effort
we're willing to put in
to save our withering flower.
