Chapter 10

"Hm," Soobin gave a small sound of disappointment. The 'testing room' where there were, you know, going to run some tests on him, was as boring and as plain as the clinics from Earth. After seeing that amazing Angel's quarter where apparently, the interior was much larger than what it seems like from outside, he really expected something more. 

"Well, Yeonjun did tell me they found out about their powers and everything here," Soobin mumbled as he sat down on the chair in the middle of the room. He had expected huge equipments and special machines to be set around the room. At this rate, we won't be surprised if it was just a normal urinal test. 

"Hello," a tall person walked into the room, the bell above the door chimed sweetly. Soobin stood and bowed, eyes glued to the doctor. He was a delivishly handsome man alright, dark hair, pale flawless skin from perhaps a well balanced life, but the eternal looking tiredness that rested in his hollow eyes suggested otherwise. He donned the usual doctors coat, expect that it was black, and bandages wrapped themselves around both of his arms under his sleeves. 

"Sit down, it's alright," he uttered as he sat down, the wheeled chair squeaking under his slender body. "Give me... a moment."

Soobin nodded and sat back comfortably, yet awkwardly. The doctor clicked away on his computer for a few minutes, shuffling with papers that came out from one of the drawers, his dark eyes only looking up at Soobin when he felt the gaze. 

"Do you need help?" 

"Err," Soobin stumbled on his words. Did the doctor really just ask him that question? "I'm here to get tested for... my abilities?"

The man chuckled and pushed away from the table, walking towards Soobin. "Right, sorry about that, I was sorting out your respective files, after all you're new and probably gonna stick around here for quite some time"

Soobin smiled back, and eased a little more. 

"So what do I need to do?"

"First of all my name is Alexander Andrews, and well, I'm not really a doctor, if you want to call me that, I don't really mind it, but I am a Soul Tester and process you'll be going through next, well I never really named it. But it's something like a... scanner through your body where I'll try to find loopholes in your soul."

"Loophole?" Soobin asked, the chair he was sitting on, started leaning backwards until he was lying straight on the leather. 

"Yes, Loopholes. Since u are new here, it's expected that your abilities will not immediately appear. Instead, they manifest slowly on where they will appear. Something like that, a lot of people just go without needing to understand anything," Alexander chuckled, strapping a few wires onto Soobin's clothes as well his wrists. "These are to make sure your clothes don't get in the way."

Before Soobin could even make sense or ask Alexander about what that last sentence meant, the chair, now a bed since it was laid down, jerked and started rising up. 

"Now, I want you to keep your mind empty and relax your body. Don't worry about anything and it'll be over before you know it."

"What?" Soobin struggled slightly, watching as the beige coloured ceiling approach closer and closer to his body. "Hey!What's going on?"

"Oh, I almost forgot." Alexander exclaimed, sounding farther than he should be and the whirring of machine started as a section larger than Soobin's height opened and moved away. 

Seriously, Soobin thought as he was lifted into the dark room. Almost forgot? What's wrong with thing guy?

"Remember what I said!" Alexander showed from below and the door slid shut behind him, a mist of steam enveloping Soobin's body.
