I'll fight till I die,
But I'm only human.
There are scars that marr me,
But you'll never see them.

I'll give of myself,
But I'm not made of elastic.
My heart can only take so much,
Before it cracks and I have to mask it.

I'll trade my love,
But never my trust.
For what even is love,
If it's all just going to go up in dust.

I'll smile brightly,
And polish my exterior.
So no one will see,
How I'm breaking on the interior.

I'll let you test me,
Until my patience runs thin.
And sorry won't heal the pieces of my soul,
When I'm wholly broken then.

I'll bear the pain in silence,
For my actions carry the noise.
Then wipe my tears and smile,
Though I feel like I have no another choice.

Though I have no strength left,
I'll hang on till the end.
And I'll fight till I die,
But still, I'm only human.
