"Is the gift even appropriate?" Sasuke wondered, swallowing. In the back of his mind, he had to wonder given the fact he'd honestly never seen the women he knew wear jewelry. Sure, the girls at the academy might wear hair clips and some a simple earing set. He didn't remember his mother ever wearing jewelry—none of the female shinobi did. It seemed like something done by those women who weren't who were also of the noble class.

Yet on a whim, he'd bought jewelry for Sakura.

"You don't have to wear it."

"What?"

"I know you're not a jewelry type of person, but it was pretty and I thought..." Sasuke looked down at his lap which was under the table they sat at. "You deserve something pretty?"

"Thank you," Sakura smiled. "And I will wear it, though, there won't be many opportunities to do so. It actually goes with my kimono."

Sasuke looked up, pleased Sakura liked the piece of jewelry he had gotten her.
