Hiya! I know I haven't updated this book in a hot minute, my life is a wee bit hectic at the moment, but I wanted to write this little note just to say... today is the one year anniversary of this book beginning to be published!
So... Happy birthday "The Queen and Her King" !
I can't even believe it... I truly can't, one year and it's still not finished-
Just kidding XD This book means more to me than just me finishing it which is another reason why I'm beating myself up about completing it well, I just want to get everything right :) But the fact that I published the first chapter "The Worst of the Worst" one year ago today is mind boggling... this book has seen a whole lot of mess in my life and has been a massive support system for me, it got me through a solid portion of quarantine, got me through my first actual break up, and set the tone and standard for the rest of my books moving forward... so needless to say, this book is like one of my major pride and joys :D
Knowing that this book means so much to so many of you as well is so amazing too, when I began publishing this book I couldn't have imagined this book meaning and doing as much as it does. It's become one of the biggest projects I've ever done and nearly finished, not just because it's a long book but because of what it stands for and what it's done. Thank you all for your everlasting support on this book as well, even if my updating times are absolutely awful XD
Brielle will forever be one of my favorite characters, and the world she lives in will forever be one of my favorites. I can't imagine a world where I didn't write this book, it's just done so much... and all of you are the reason this book came to life in the way it did I'm absolutely convinced <3
Thank you for your support and even patience throughout this book, because this book didn't just bring readers, it brought friends that I literally treasure with all my heart. I'll be honest, the friends I've met through this book seem to have more in common with me then the friends I meet in real life, and that's just shown me how important it is to find like minded people to surround myself with, and all of you are just that, like minded amazing individuals :D
A year ago today I published the first chapter, and for the next good while I updated it every day. We went through the royals (specifically Ben) being spelled a few times, kids that were supposed to be villains finding good through falling in love, even a special girl soon to be Queen find the love of her life when she thought such a thing would never be. Through all the ups and downs, moments of suspense and even of slight agony, in the end... this story will always be, at least to me, a prime example of finding true love. Not just the love from classic fairytales, but the love that keeps two people together through some of the wildest ups and downs a couple can see. The sort of love that withstands through storm after storm, all to get out at the end stronger than ever.
Brielle and Harry's story, to me, will always be that one book that I can think about when I think about a story of realistic true love. Realistic in the way that these two have been through hell in back in a few different ways, and yet are about to be married... I just hope this book does and means as much as it does for you as it does for me <3
Alright... I'll stop ranting about how much I love this book and how much I love every single one of you, I promise I'll update this book soon... until then, remember to stay hydrated and to be kind to yourself :D
- Love, Brooke
