                      Madelaina  :

Lucas Agosti

Now that he is standing closer I can see him more clearly

Although I have to look up to do it.

He is so tall. Probably 6'3, maybe even 6'4.

He has dark brown hair that looks slightly damp, soft, fluffy and just the right length for your hands to get lost in it..
His lips are full and pink and from what I saw before, hiding behind them are a set of perfect, white teeth.

I say hiding because he was smiling not a moment ago. Chuckling at his little sister and beaming at her. But now...

Now he is straight faced.

Stoic.

Not a single flicker of emotion evident in his bright green eyes.

"Lucas, it is a pleasure to meet you," papa speaks up, holding out his hand for Lucas to shake.

And he does. Gripping papa's hand and giving it one firm shake.

"Same here," he nodded.  "As well as you, Lady Ferrara," he looks to my mother.

"The pleasure is all mine," mamma smiles at him.

"Come sit next to me, fratello," the melodic voice of Lucrezia appears for the second time.

She pulls his hand towards the seat she had been occupying. The seat one over from the opposite of mine. The other currently holding Lady Agosti. Meaning...

In.

Out.

He allows her to lead him to the seat and he watches her climb into her own chair before dropping onto his.

Right opposite of mine.

Lucrezia holds onto the smile on her face as she finally decides that she is hungry and begins eating the food she had previously been pushing around her plate.

"Lucas, you remember me telling you about Lord Ferrara's daughters, Alessia and Madelaina," Stefano addresses his son.

Lucas turns to look at Alessia, a hint of a small smile flickering over his lips as she smiles and waves at him.

Then he looks to me.

His emerald eyes slamming into mine.

And suddenly, that hint of a smile disappears.

In.

Out.

In......

Oh god.

No.

In.

Out.

You're fine.

His eyes don't leave mine as he says in a low, grave voice, "I remember."

"Great, now that that's settled, where were we?" Stefano turns to resume his conversation with my father.

"Come, eat something, mi amore," Verona starts loading food onto Lucas's empty plate.

He holds my gaze for a second longer before turning away and picking up his knife and fork.
