"Good morning Sergeant Barnes." FRIDAY's voice rang once the soldier woke up with a heavy sigh.

"mornin' FRIDAY." Bucky mumbled then turned over in his bed and looked at it longingly and sadly.

"He isn't here Sergeant Barnes." She spoke sadly about her creator.

"Just... hopin'." Bucky mumbled.

"One day... he'll come back... he didn't die on the mission... and he's here..." Bucky muttered. "He never died and he's just spent a long time tryin' to find us."

"Still no sight of him Sergeant Barnes." FRIDAY spoke solemnly.

"Thanks FRIDAY." Bucky gave her a tight yet genuine thankful smile as he got up then got dressed as usual.

"Pop!"

Bucky turned his head to the door just to smile when he saw his daughter running into his room and jumping on the bed now.

"Hi Mia." Bucky finished getting on his shirt then faced her as he squatted down and smiled at her.

"I had a thought." Mia kicked her legs lightly as she smiled at him.

"Do tell." Bucky chuckled at her as he tickled her and she giggled.

"If I get all my homework done this week, then this weekend, we should go to the park and go on the rides at the carnival next to it." Mia hummed.

"There's always a catch, isn't there?" Bucky scoffed as he gave her a look.

"Yup." Mia gave him a firm head nod as she smiled up at him as well.

"Fine but to make it better, you have to get it done before dinner, otherwise, it ain't happenin'." Bucky ruffled through her hair then got up to walk out of his room and head down to make them breakfast.

Mia grumbled then fixed her hair just to race after him and sit in her spot as she also got some food out for them.

"Pop?"

"What's up doll?"

"Can you tell me about him again?" Mia looked up at her father innocently and curiously as she tugged on his shirt lightly.

Bucky stopped short then looked down at her and took out the piece of toast in his mouth to think as he chewed.

He picked her up then placed her in her seat just to get their breakfast on their plates then sat next to her and sighed.

"He was... he was perfect." Bucky spoke highly of his husband.

Tony Stark, Iron-Man, had died in a mission 5 years ago because the building burned down and the billionaire was still in there while Bucky didn't have enough time to save him because he was grabbing their daughter so he gained another family member but lost the other in return.

"He was smart. He could multitask easily. He could help Bruce with science, help me with my metal arm, as he made a delicious lasagna that would make any chef melt from the first bite." Bucky smiled as he remembered the billionaire and that exact scenario, as if it was yesterday.

"People say that I'm adopted because I have two daddy's but he carried me... right?" Mia looked at her father with small tears in her eyes.

"Don't listen to them, princess. You did. He had you, C-section for reasons." Bucky waved that part off even though it was obvious although it wouldn't be to her because she's still 5 so that would take some explaining on his part that he was waiting to talk to her about when she turned 30. "And he woulda loved you, princess." He smiled at her as he brushed some of her hair back away from her face as she perked up and got a big smile on her face at the thought.
