I went and sat in the truck while the two men introduced themselves and laid it all out for the orc. I didn't want his focus on me, he needed to understand what Castiel would be demanding of him. I was rustling around the glove compartment looking for a mint, a hard candy, something, I can't believe I licked his face, when the two men exited the motel room.

"What the fuck did you do to him?" Maverick slid into the drivers seat but turned to face me.

"I don't know, maybe it was the claws and fangs." I turned away from the Male, but I could tell he wasn't buying it.

I was a little shocked my ruse had worked so well. The fact that no one had ever seen a boggart, one of the fear eating shadow creatures, had been in my favor though. I figured a little shadow play a little bravado and he would shit his pants. I had been correct it seemed, not literally though thankfully. Men like him were hallow creatures full of fear and self loathing. All it takes is small push and they can easily fall into that well of fear and drown. I smiled to myself. I hoped he never slept again. Looking over his shoulder for me for the rest of his life. Not daring to lay another hand on a young girl ever. Again.

Before we pulled out of the parking lot Maverick removed his glamour from me. I sighed in relief. The glamour hadn't been uncomfortable but I could feel his magic on me like a thin membrane. I settled more comfortably back into the bench seat. Too tired to pull down the damned leather skirt where it had once again ridden up my toned scar flecked thighs. Maverick's eyes skirted down them, but he quickly looked away and started the truck.

The men filled me in on how the conversation with Orion had gone. They assured me he was very cooperative, especially when they had laid out the pictures of the girl that had been given to us and the new ones Castiel had taken of me.

"I should have paid extra for the nicer Polaroid camera." Castiel murmured fiddling with the camera in his lap.

"Why?" I asked.

"It developed oddly. The shadows were much darker than they should have been in the photos I took of you two. The image was still usable, but it was strange."

"Hmm weird."

We didn't speak for the rest of the ride back to the Guild. I was content to let the silence linger, not wanted to field questions from the two men about the events of the night.

It was around four a.m. when we finally pulled into the crumbling parking lot around the Guild.

"You know, one of these days I would like to go on an adventure with you two that ends at a decent hour. I won't be here early tomorrow. You don't need me to reopen the lines of communication with the Guild network."

Neither of the men objected so I swung my leg over my bike, attempted not to flash anyone my panties and headed for home.

I awoke the next morning with a groan peeling open my sleep crusted eyes. Keira grumbled at the early hour and hopped out of my bed to go lay in hers. The men had assumed I would be sleeping in this morning and I wished that was the case, but while they were busy with the Guild I intended to do some work of my own.

I forced myself out of the bed and padded down the stairs to the den where I had a computer older than I was. I turned it on and ventured into the kitchen in search of food. The cabinets and pantry had not magically conjured up any cereal so I settled on making a pot of coffee with my last scoop of grounds. While the coffee brewed I went back to check on the computer. The screen was struggling to come to life and the huge tower was making a sort of whining clicking noise. I thought longingly of the expensive apartment and full bank account I had been forced to leave behind when I, ah, relocated.
