Chapter 12 - New Year's Tournament Begins!

Warden: "Greetings! And a happy new year to each of you!"

Jyugo: "Well this certainly is a large venue."

Nico: "It feels like a party."

Uno: "NO ONE TOLD ME THE WARDEN WAS A WOMAN!!"

Rock: "She's beautiful."

I held Rock's hand with my right and Uno's hand with my left.

Jinx: "There's a lot of people here... I can feel the eyes and hear the whisper's already..."

Rock: "It'll be okay. Just stay close to us, alright?"

Jinx: "Mhm..."

Uno: "And listen, if they get too eager, I can shout at them again."

I giggled.

Warden: "Here at Nanba prison, we have a long standing tradition. A unique way of celebrating this holiday. Our New Year's Tournament will now begin!"

Jyugo: "What kind of tournament?"

Kenshirou: "I will now announce the participants selected to represent each building."

Jinx: "Who's that?"

Hajime: "He's the mutt in charge of building 4."

Jyugo: "What does he mean by participants?"

Hajime: "The New Year's Tournament is an event in which inmates and officers from each building are formed into teams."

Seitarou: "Each member of whichever team manages to win this tournament, will be rewarded with a nifty little prize"

Yamato: "We guards are rewarded a pay bonus. Whereas each victorious inmate will be able to select a single item of their choosing."

Jinx & The Boys: "Huh? HAJIME! YOU GOTTA LET US COMPETE, BRO!!"

Hajime: "Damnit, Yamato. Why'd you have to go and tell them?"

Seitarou: "Uhm, I should mention that it's the Warden who gets to choose the participants."

Kenshirou: "Representing building 13... we have cell 13."

Hajime & Seitarou: "HOW IS THAT FAIR?!"

The Boys: "ALRIGHT!!"

Jinx: "Are we going to fight?"

Jyugo: "We aren't doing anything... The four of us will."

Jinx: "Huh?! But that's not fair! Are you saying that just because I'm small and I have little physical strength?!"

Jyugo: "Uhhhh..."

Jinx: "Well, out with it!"

Rock: "What Jyugo means to say, Jinx, is that some of these events could get intense... And we don't want you to get hurt."

I scowled and looked down.

Uno: "Hey, chin up, sis. You can be our little cheerleader!"

Nico: "Yeah! Can you do that?"

Jinx: "... okay..."

Jyugo: "That's it. Come on."
