Chapter 71

"Hey babe" Amy greeted Bryan with a hug as soon as he opened the door.

Due to Sean's presence, they couldn't meet at Bryan's place, so he booked a hotel room for them to meet.

"Hey beautiful" Bryan replied, placing a quick kiss on Amy's temple as he returned the hug.

"I missed you so much" Amy said, still not letting go of Bryan.

"Me too" Bryan whispered against her lips, tucking her hair behind her ear before connecting their lips for a sweet kiss.

Gosh! Has he missed her soft plump lips. He ran his tongue over Amy's lips to have access inside her mouth. Amy gave him entrance without delay, enjoying the gentle manner in which he kissed her.

The kiss was passionate and filled with longing, but at the same time delicate, sending shivers down her spine. Amy didn't want the kiss to end, as she has been counting down to this day but unfortunately it has to, so they could both catch their breath.

Bryan slowly pulled away from the kiss, smiling at Amy who was pouting with a frown. He pecked her pouty lips and took her hand, guiding her towards the bed.

Amy sat on the bed and took off her heels. She switched off her phone so no one could reach her. She knows she is slowly getting into the habit of switching off her phone whenever she is with Bryan, but she can't help it. She wants her man all to herself with no distractions or interruption.

"How did your week go?" Bryan asked while pouring a glass of orange juice for Amy since she doesn't take alcohol.

"I hung out with Mandy and Jack, and.. I took Sean to some of the coolest restaurant in the city"

"You two are getting along just fine"

"Yeah... He's not a total asshole. No offense"

"None taken" Bryan chuckled, handing her the glass of juice.

"Thanks" Amy politely said, taking a sip from the glass.

"I couldn't go shopping as planned" she continued.

"You can do that next week" Bryan said as he joined her on the bed, with a glass of whiskey in his hand.

"I barely have time for myself these days" she groaned, running her hand over her face.

"You're still beautiful" Bryan complimented and downed his whiskey, placing the empty glass on the nightstand. He needed that to relieve him from the stress at work.

"Don't try to flatter me... I wanted to go to the spa and then shopping, but-"

"All that just to see me?" Bryan couldn't hide the amusement in his eyes.

Amy gave him a nudge and whispered,

"Don't flatter yourself"

Though he was a 100% right, but she wouldn't admit it because he would tease her for it.

She put her glass down on the nightstand beside Bryan's empty one and knelt on the bed behind him.

"Enough about me... How was your week?" She asked, giving his shoulder a massage.

"Hectic" he simply replied.

Bryan let out a sigh of content, as Amy's hand was working magic on his tense muscles.

"I can relieve you of your stress" Amy whispered seductively in his ear.

Bryan's little friend twitched at Amy's offer, but he tried to control his arousal. When Bryan didn't say anything, Amy began placing kisses on his neck, making it difficult for him to think properly.

Bryan needed this to help him forget how terrible his week went. He needed the warmth she brings. He needed her body pressed against his in a sexual way. He needed to hear her beautiful moans as he pleasured her, but he wouldn't give in to his desires, not until he sorts out the current situation his company is facing.

"Amy, not now" he quietly said, causing her to halt in her actions.

This is the first time Bryan is rejecting her. Amy couldn't hide her disappointment. She sat beside him, with her legs folded on the bed like a monk.

"I didn't see you in like a week, and neither did you call because you were busy... Now we finally get to meet, what do you do? You reject me... What's the point of all this, if my boyfriend won't make love to me?!" She angrily said, gesturing at the hotel room.

"Love, forgive me. I'm not rejecting you"

"Then, what is this?!" Amy ran her fingers through her hair to conceal her shaky fingers.

"I'm just not in the right state of mind" Bryan explained.

"What has you bothered?" Amy's voice held so much concern as she asked. She has never seen Bryan this bothered about anything.

"I need to finalize the purchase of the company in Brazil before the end of the month"

Bryan has already bought more than half of the company's shares, now he needs a potential buyer to purchase the rest of the shares.

"Oh. About that.." Amy paused, wondering whether or not to tell Bryan about her plans. Will he like the idea, or will he dissuade her from taking such a bold step?

'You'll only find out when you give it a shot' her subconscious said to her.

"I would like to be your partner" she finally decided to tell him.

Bryan was shocked to hear that. How did she come up with such a decision?

"I - I don't understand" he stuttered.

"I mean, the subsidiary company you plan on creating in Brazil. I want to be a part of it"

"Why?" He had to ask because he didn't want her getting involved in issues like this based on emotions.

"I-"

"Look, Amy. I don't want you making such rash decisions only because we're together" he interrupted her.

"What do you take for? A complete idiot?... I've studied enough to know what I'm getting myself into. Besides, what makes you think I'm doing this because of you?" Amy retorted. She was offended by Bryan's impression of her.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.. I just thought-"

"I'm doing this for me, Bryan. I want to have something I can call my own besides my dad's companies"
