"MY PARENTS ARE SO PARANOID OF ME BEING A POGUE, LIKE IT'S THE WORST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN."

"Hey, I hear they got good weed at boarding school, though." JJ began to roll up a joint.

"I'm not going to boarding school." Kiara looked up at JJ and Brooklyn who sat on the top of the car. "They're gonna have to kidnap me, tie me up, and throw me in a van."

"Well, I say..." JJ stepped off to join Kiara's side to pass over the joint. "...we just crumble some herb right now."

"Hey, Kie, have you tried to hit John B back on that number yet?" Pope asked, looking up from the letter.

"Like, twenty million times."

"That's quite a few times." JJ chuckled.

"Some random lady at a hotel keeps answering."

"Well, until we hear from them again, we gotta try and clear his name." Pope held up the letter. "Right now, this letter's out best bet."

"Right. Stay on task. That's why I love ya, Pope."

Kiara stood up and held out the joint to Pope. "What Pope are you gonna be today?"

He looked at it and then said, "I'm good. I'm gonna try to focus."

"Good Pope." Kiara fell back to sit next to JJ. "Boring Pope."

"I'll take that." JJ chuckled, taking the joint from Kiara's hand. "Um, do tricks now! Roll over, boy!" Brooklyn jumped off the car and stepped away from Kiara and JJ.

"Sit." Kiara laughed.

She and Pope leaned against the car. "You okay?" He asked.

"Never been better." She laughed it off. Behind her JJ barked while Kiara continued to laugh at his dumb jokes. "You?"

He shrugged, glancing over at the brunette. "I have no idea, Brooke."

She grabbed the letter from the boy to have a look, maybe she could try and be the sane, smart one today. "I just want to see my brother. I want him to be safe and back home where he belongs."

"And he will be." Pope reassured her, watching her read through the letter a few times.

"What if he's not okay? Maybe he is okay... Maybe him and Sarah are perfectly fine and I'm freaking out for no reason." She shook her head and laughed, handing the letter back over to Pope. "I'm just overreacting."

Pope could see she was stressed and that she wasn't having the best time dealing with this situation.

Pope's arms wrapped around her. She wanted to push him away but he needed this too. However, the warmth the radiated off of Pope made her eyes water. In that moment, there in her best friend's arms, she felt safe.
