✨Talia✨
I glared at the 'We Are Here To Help' sign as Sam and I walked in, we gave Sandy a sort of convincing excuse to needing her to leave us for a little bit, she just joked,
"If you wanted some alone time you could have just said! Have fun kids!" Then she dashed to the library, her favourite place apparently. We both blushed as she ran away but once Sam reminded me about the programs, the scowl hadn't left my face. Sam patted my shoulder and whispered,
"If you look like your fine they might take sympathy on you and only prescribe you a few sessions." I swatted his hand off my shoulder and acted like everything was fine as we walked in, a lady at the front desk welcomed us and asked in a sweet voice,
"So, who is here for the programs? And names pleeeeaaaase." She dragged out her please like we were 5 years old. I rolled my eyes and said,
"Me apparently, and I'm Talia Loke. Or Tally." Her eyes lit up with sympathy, she reached out for my hand and patted it gently I widened my eyes, what had my mom told her?!
"Oh Talia! I heard about you from your mom! I'm Aliesha and we have the perfect program for you, tell me is there anything you would like to get off your chest now? Your mom said you have a psychiatrist but you don't seem to talk much to her, now your friend-" Aliesha was so open about everything and Sam was right there.
"SAM! Would you maybe go outside for a moment?" I gave him a desperate look and he nodded before giving me a look that seemed too say what the heck is going on, you better sign up for this stuff while I'm outside. I groaned as he swung the squeaky door shut.
"Ohhh... Talia, I see." Aliesha forced me to look back at her, what was she talking about?
"Boyfriend problems. Now, I know it must be hard for you but don't rush into anything. You must be missing your friends love so you are trying to make up for it. Jesse wouldn't want thi-" I slammed my other hand down on the desk and Aliesha whipped her hand that was holding mine away, like I was about to hit her.
"You don't know a damn thing about Jesse. And don't you ever say her name like that again. I came here to sign up for the programs not have a heart to heart, my psychiatrist makes me do enough of that in our appointments. Now you can sign me up for one session a week. Now I'll probably ditch after a week so don't bother tryin' to track me down after that. Thanks, bye." I stormed out and when the door banged Sam and a few kids around us looked up. That was when the whispers started.
"She's the one!"
"The one with the weird family!"
"Their not weird they're troubled!"
Sam gave them a hard stare and they stopped. I walked up to him and grabbed his arm,
"Can we go to my dorm now? Please." He nodded warily looking back at the signed door. I felt blush creep into my cheeks.
"Yeah, let's go." We walked through the hallways and students looked at us weirdly, wow was I that much of a weirdo?"
Don't let him bother ya Tally! He's a arsehole for spreadin' those rumors and we'll make him pay!
"Shut up Jesse." I muttered, her encouraging voice reminded me of primary school when a bully spread rumors that I still wet the bed and I was deeply affected.
"You ok? What happened in there?" Sam grabbed my hand, and made me face him. "I know this might be a bit personal to you but... do you mind telling me what is happening?"
Yeah sure! So Sam, my best friend killed herself 6 or so months ago and everyone is telling me what is best for me! And I keep hearing her voice whenever I remember something that was ours and whenever I try to kill my self her voice turns up and my hands are practically tied when it come to making decisions for myself, cos my mom is so overprotective! And whenever I think of her I feel confused, angry, sad or just crazy! Wanna be besties?
