  «Sans anniversaire, comment savoir que nous existons et que le temps nous est compté?»

«Without a birthday, how do we know that we exist and that time is running out?»
~~~~~
I was turning eighteen in four hours. That should sound exciting. I was finally entering an adult phase. However, it didn't feel like it. It felt like every other day, but with Agea flipping out, a guy massaging my hair, and a woman beating my face with a beauty blender.
I had raised myself since I was thirteen. I thought myself right and wrong. I supported myself through every single challenging chapter in my life. I fell, I got up. I made mistakes, and that was okay. I had bad habits, but I worked on myself. I wasn't still perfect, and I knew. I still had a lot of pain, anger, comportment issues I had to work through. All I was saying, I had to be a deranged, immature, crazy, and childish adult for myself since I was thirteen.
I opened one eye to peek at Agea pacing in front of me while talking on the phone. She was already dressed up in her neon pink mini dress. The dress was a mesh and embellished with diamonds. They didn't cover anything since I could see her whole breast and the pink panties under.
She picked me up after class to this studio, where she had a full glam team and stylists waiting for us to get to work—four-woman, three-man mainly lovely and professional. If you thought Julian was extra, wait until you meet her.
"Close your eyes." The redhead girl murmured to me. I obeyed, and the cold droplets of the setting pray made me winced.
"And you're done!" She exclaimed while handing me a mirror. The girl facing me hadn't anything resembling Xemina. That was my first having a full glam makeup done, and it was strange. The blue eyeshadows were perfectly gleaming on my eyes socket, the winged eyeliner accentuating the shape of my eyes. I was battling demons to keep my eyes on the long lashes and the contours and highlighting lifting my cheekbones and shrinking my nose, the red lipstick screaming diva. I could see my mother's resemblance. A face that I hated so much yet shared a lot of features.
"Oh my God, you are already trending on Twitter!" Agea shoved her phone on my face. "245k tweets, Hollywood life is already in place, and TMZ is in their way. Tonight is going to epic." She screamed while spinning.
I doubt this was a nice little party with my classmates. They rented a nightclub, Toybox, and invited zillion of people and paparazzi. Yes, epic indeed. For the first time after four years, the world would see me again, all grown up. I was nervous and was wondering if this was too much. If it were up to me, I would have stayed at my dorm, watch Netflix and wait for midnight to sleep. But my friend went through so much trouble to make this day perfect for me. They have been planning my birthday since the holidays, and they were so excited. I couldn't throw everything off. That would be devastating.
Mark would not be happy about this big party, he wanted me to stay hidden, and the thought of him having a heart attack when he sees me on the internet in a few hours made me smile. He should understand that you can't hide the black sheep for too long.
_______
I lied. I regretted agreeing to this. Agea went over the top; I was mainly fucked. The dresses she chose for me were unbelievably extravagant and expensive. Those were dresses you wore at the gala or for a Grammy, not a danm birthday.
"What the fuck is this one?" I pointed at a red strapless mermaid one with a long trail. "I am going to freeze to death!"
"It's the one Kylie Jenner wore at the pre-Grammy, you're ignorant bitch." She rolled her eyes.
