Alex sat still looking at me with the warm eyes I hadn't seen a peak of in a long time. A smile played on his lips. I don't know how he could be so calm with a wedding that was right outside. Not to mention he was the groom.

"Stop smiling, you should not be smiling right now."

"And why's that?" Alex teased.

"You do realize the hell your going to raise literally in a few minutes right. I'm sure Ainsley will come looking for you."

"So what?"

I looked at him blankly. This was going to be his problem yet I was the one freaking out. "Yeah I guess it'll be your problem," I laughed.

Alex chuckled in response. "Should I run away now?"

"Probably if you want to live," I joked.

He laughed and shook his head. Alex got up and buttoned his fitted suit jacket. "Okay it's time to back in there."

Curiosity sparked in me. "What are you going to do?"

"Tell everyone to go home I suppose and just hope Ainsley doesn't go insane."

"Why wouldn't she? She loves you."

"And you love me."

I could feel my cheeks heat up instantly. "So?"

"I just wanted to say it," Alex teased.

I rolled my eyes, "Alex I never said I would get back together with you."

His eyes darkened and shifted closer to me. He gently caressed my cheek and grazed his thumb over my lips. "I'll make you mine again. No matter how long it takes."

I tried to keep my composure but in the inside I was anything but calm.

I stood up and brought my face close to his and he seemed genuinely surprised. I looked down at his lips and they were slightly parted. "Is that a promise?"

He nodded and leaned in to kiss me but I quickly stepped back.

He cocked his brow at me. "Such a tease."

I shrugged, "Must've learned from you."

"I missed you," Alex grinned. "Okay I have to get out there."

Alex offered me his hand. "Oh no I will not be going back in there beside you at the same exact time."

"You're right, I don't need to give her another reason to go insane."

I shook my head and smiled. I couldn't help but feel guilty but at the same time, it was Alex's choice. It would take time for me to forgive him but I know there would never be anyone else in my heart. He brought so much happiness into my life even if he wasn't even close to perfect.

"If you keep smiling at me like that, I'll take you here and now."

His words snapped me out of my thoughts and I hadn't even realized I was smiling like a fool. I quickly wiped that off and rolled my eyes. "Go deal with your fiancé first."

"Wish me luck."

"You'll need more than luck."

Alex grinned and walked to the door, "You coming?"

"I'll be shortly behind. I don't want to look like a home wrecker or whatever."

"Don't run away," Alex smiled. With that he left.

I took a moment to collect myself and relax. Even thought this was his problem I still felt on edge and anxious. But I also couldn't help but feel a bit happy?
