Chapter 18

The staff is running around and doing the last-minute checks because it's the day when the Empress will come to visit the Valencia main residence to discuss the wedding plans and also meet me for the first time.

Meanwhile, I was choosing what outfit to wear. My grandmother had invited designers, stylists, and boutique owners so I would have a wardrobe prepared for any occasion. It's definitely wouldn't be easier to transport those clothes to Nauloria Empire.

"You should go for the mint-colored costume." My mother offered, she was helping to get ready The mint costume looked a lot like it was a Chanel costume but it's was made by one of the famous Siren's sub-dimension brands. I agreed with my mother's suggestion and I went to change behind the room divider.

"Are you nervous?" My mother asked me and hummed in agreement.

"How did you fare when you went to meet with the grandmother with John," I asked my mother and she chuckled.

"Oh, I was very nervous to meet her, since I was afraid she wouldn't accept a woman with a child, but in the end, it's gone very well." My mother started reminiscing.

I remembered as a child when John introduced us to his mother who is the matriarch of the Valencia household, everything started changing for the better.

I started getting interesting lessons, new playmates, and friends, and I was spoiled more.

"Well, it's not like you are now a woman with a child so you shouldn't be nervous about meeting with the Empress." my mother comforted.

"I know but what i -f." My mother stopped me from finishing the sentence.

"You are worried about the possibility of being abandoned like it's happened to me?" My mother asked softly and I nodded then my mother sighed.

"When I saw you interacting with Prince Kai, I understood that he would always remain by your side and always will be on your side when the conflict arises. Besides I have a good feeling about Prince Kai." My mother comforted and I let a small smile but of course, I was still putting my clothes on behind the room divider.

Then I heard the door open.

"It's not like Sirens ever voluntarily separated. At least not that I know of during my 400 years of living or else it's would become a huge gossip between nobles." My grandmother commented.

"Not even once?" My mother asked my grandmother and she shook her head. Hearing about sirens splitting up their assets would stir the reaction from the media.

While werewolves have destined soulmates, they can still reject them even if they marked them. On the other hand, sirens don't have a destined mate but once they mark their chosen mate they are stuck with their partner for eternity. Unless one of the partners dies then they can still remarry.

Someone actually tried to reject their siren companion in the way like how werewolves do but it didn't work and the other person just became upset both of them ended up going to a marriage counselor.

I finally put on shoes and walked out from behind the room divider.

"Looks you are ready, we should head downstairs since the Empress can arrive at any minute." My grandmother informs.

Then we just headed to the foyer where the staff and other relatives anticipating the Empress's arrival. One of the relatives is holding the phone in case the meeting doesn't go well so he can sell stocks at the best price before the news will reach to a media company.

This is how Empress' opinion is influential.

The butler who was on the lookout came over to my grandmother and told her that the cars are arriving at the residence.

My grandmother clapped her so everyone can mentally prepare.

The was already widely open but I can only catch glimpses of the cars that were escorting the Empress safely.

Some bodyguards are accompanying the Empress they arrived first and dispersed around the territory to make sure that there is no harm comes to Empress while she is staying at our residence.

Finally, the car that the Empress is in stops in front of the entrance.

Some assistants were helping Empress to get out of the car or I should say that's Empress' ladies-in-waiting.

Empress Vivianne wore a traditional blue Naulorian robe that is carefully embroidered with beautiful flower patterns. Her long black hair is made in a fluffy side ponytail that is decorated with expensive hairpins.

Now I know from who Prince Kai inherited the features, he inherited almost everything except her eyes. The Empress's eyes were blue.

She wore a pleasant smile. While she was entering the foyer my grandmother was the first one who bowed her head and curtsied and everyone is following her suit including me.

"We would like to welcome you to the Valencia household, your majesty Empress Vivianne." my grandmother was the first one to speak. Then we all lifted our hands.

"Ah, I didn't expect such a pleasant welcome. I guess the rumors about Valencia's great family education are true." Empress Vivienne spoke with a melodic voice.

"Do you perhaps would like to rest before we start discussing our children's marriage, your majesty?" My grandmother politely asked.

"Thank you for the offer, I already had plenty of rest in the hotel. I would like to start the discussion as soon as possible if it's possible?" Empress Vivienne politely declined her grandmother's offer.

Now I was more nervous since the Empress wanted to discuss the wedding plans immediately.

"Of course." My grandmother answered she wanted to add but the Empress's eyes have fallen on me and then she smiled.

"You must be future daughter-in-law. You have no idea how I'm happy to finally meet you." The Empress came over to and held both of my hands.

"I'm also very happy to finally meet you, your majesty" I spoke in a composed manner as I could. The Empress grinned happily.

"Then I guess we should head to the drawing-room to discuss the wedding plans?" My grandmother asked the Empress and the Empress agreed.

Empress walked next to me as we went to the drawing-room.
