ATHENA

"Thank you" I said, shaking the paramedics hand as they walked out of the room. Mattia and I stood by the bedroom door, watching the stretcher leave with his Mother's dead body laid on it.

We heard the door close downstairs and I looked over at Mattia. He turned around and went into his bedroom, slamming the door shut on me.

"Mattia" I said, walking over and knocking on the door. He'd locked it and I signed, leaning against it.

"It'll be okay-"

The door flew open, him standing there with an expression of disgust on his face.

"It'll be okay? After I just saw that? My mom, lying dead on the floor?" he repeated, glaring at me "but yeah no it'll all be okay because Athena said so"

I furrowed my brows at him, confused as to why he was lashing out on me for this.

"What did I do?" I asked, placing my hand on his arm to make him face me "look at me when I'm talking to you, Mattia"

"Shut up" he mumbled, brushing my arm away and walking downstairs "just go home already, why are you still here?" I followed him into the kitchen. He got out a bottle of alcohol and I walked over to him.

"You're not drinking that" I said "you're going to end up doing something stupid"

"Give me the bottle, Athena"

"I'll fire you" I threatened, watching his eyes bore into mine as he dropped his hand. I placed the bottle on the counter but he grabbed it quickly.

"Behave yourself, you're in my house"

"Fine, goodnight" I walked over to the door, placing my hand on the doorknob and turning to him "so this is the part where you're supposed to stop me"

"I don't care, fuck off"

He didn't even look up at me as he unscrewed the cork off the bottle. I narrowed my eyes at him, walking over again and snatching the glass he had ready away from him. He sighed, looking up at the ceiling.

"Give me, the fucking glass"

His voice was low and it just made it more attractive when I knew I was getting under his skin.

"Get another one" I said, taking the wine bottle from him and filling my glass up. He raised an eyebrow, looking at me.

"You don't drink red wine" he said. I shrugged, raising the glass to my lips. He reached out before I could take a sip and placed the glass near him.

"Don't be fucking stupid, Athena" he said. He let out another heavy sigh and placed the glass and bottle in the sink. I frowned at him, appearing behind him as he leaned over it.

"I'm sorry, Mattia" I whispered, placing my arms around his waist from behind and resting my head on his back.

"I'm sorry too" he said, staring out the window ahead "I'm sorry for anything that happens in the next two days. Don't worry about my job"

"What does that mean?"

"You'll see" he turned around, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me closer to his chest. I looked up at him, my eyes lowering down to his lips, they loved to do that oddly enough.

"Just kiss me, dumbass" he laughed, placing a finger under my chin and tilting my face upwards.

I moved forwards, letting my lips land softly on his, my hands travelling to the back of his neck as he kissed me back. His tongue entered my mouth, me opening my mouth slightly to give him access. He turned me around, placing his hands on my waist and setting me down on the countertop.

I wrapped my legs around his waist he lowered his lips down to my neck, leaving hickeys on the side of my neck and collarbone. I moaned quietly, pulling his shirt off as he looked back at me, kissing me again before picking me up. He took me to his room, his lips still on mine as he lowered me onto his bed, his body above mine with his hands travelling under my shirt.

"Are you sure?" he whispered, his fingers tracing my bra strap as he looked at me.

"I've been fucking waiting" I laughed, my fingers tracing his back muscles as he hovered above me.

He smirked at me, pushing me down again and leaving a trail of kisses from my neck down to my stomach. I laid back, staring up at the ceiling as my breathing quickened. I'd never wanted it so bad.

-

My eyes snapped open as soon as the sunlight came through the curtains. I looked over at Mattia who was sleeping next to me.

He was lying on his stomach, making the red scratches on his back obvious as I smirked. We were both lying naked, only the covers keeping our dignity intact. I placed my head back on the pillow, it felt nice waking up with no regrets for once.

"Hi" he said, looking over at me. I smiled at him, rolling onto my stomach and looking at him.

"Hi" I replied. But he rolled his eyes, placing a hand around my waist and pulling my back towards him. I blushed as I felt it against me. It wasn't soft, that's all I could think of.

"We have to get out of bed, Mattia" I complained, feelings his lips on the back of my neck.

"We don't have to do anything" he said, his arms making their way around my waist. His morning voice was deeper than his natural voice and that alone was enough to get me pregnant.

We sat there in silence, his head leaning on the back of my neck and me peacefully falling back asleep till he spoke.

"Remember yesterday when we were arguing over the wine, and you said I was going to end up doing something stupid?" I nodded my head, waiting for him to continue his point.

"We still did something stupid, just without the wine"

I turned to face him, laughing slightly at his stupid yet unfortunately very true comment.

"Okay but the sex was good" I said, burying my face in his neck as he wrapped his arms around me, agreeing with me.

"Better than Joey?" he asked. I felt sick hearing that name. I put my hand on his chest, shaking my head.

"Everything about you, is better than him"
