"Mama mama mama" y/n bounced running into my room for the 4th time in the last 30 minutes
"Yes baby bug" I sighed as I tried to stay On task
"Mama I'm bored. Play with me"
"I can't now babygirl. I'm doing laundry"it's my turn for laundry. Can you imagine doing all these peoples laundry
"Please please please mama" she jumped into my lap making me groan
"Y/n please baby" I breathed out letting my hand rest on the back of her head.
"Mommys really tired baby. Can we be still for a few hours. What if we skip nap again and do quite time instead" I suggest and she shook her head
"You wanna take a nap?" I asked
"not now. Too early mama" I looked at my phone checking the time. She's right it's only 11:00
"Well why don't you go play outside"
"It's raining" she sat up pointing to the window. It's pouring. I guess I've been too stressed I didn't really notice
I continued to fold clothes and soon she just left the room.
"Y/n babygirl" I called out after around 30 minutes there was no answer
"Y/n" I called again
"Shit y/n where did you go" I sighed walking into the living area
Nat and Thor were sat on the couch
"Hey, have you seen my little one?" I asked and nat only pointed to the back porch giggling slightly
I looked out and she was running around the backyard completely soaked and covered in mud
At first glance I was a little angry but I realized she was having fun and that's all that matters. What's a little mud. What I'm most dreading is getting her to come inside. I'll have to carry her in getting me covered. I let her play for a another 15-20 minutes while I made her lunch
She tapped at the window or the screen door
"Hey babe...ready to come in" I asked opening the door she nodded
"Mama I made it for you" she told me pointing to a mud pie with a leaf sticking up out of it.
"Thank you baby I love it" I giggled at her
I lifted her into my arms groaning at the cold wet mud against me.
"Nice look Maximoff" Thor joked
I only rolled my eyes. I'm not in the mood today. The only person who wasn't getting on my nerves was my baby and Natasha she's helping.
I started a bath placing her down in the bathroom
"Do not touch anything..you hear me?" I told her sternly and she nodded
"Words"
"Yes mama"
"Thank you love" I walked out grabbing us both new clothes
When I returned the was in the same place
"Good girl y/n" I kissed her wet hair
I stoped the water that was only a inch or two deep undressing her and putting her in. I gently scrubbed all the mud off her before draining the water
"Mama" she cried
"I'll draw you another one. I don't want you to play in the gross water" i told her wrapping a towel around her lifting her out of the tub and onto my lap where she waits patiently for the bath to fill again
"There you go my love" I put her back in kissing her head. She giggles lightly moving the water around with her hands. My little water baby.
I'm still muddy though. It's mainly my clothes and hands but still.
I'm hoping she'll let me in with her. I didn't want to make her uncomfortable though. Is it worth asking seeing as how she acted last time I was exposed.
"Baby?" She looked up
"Can mama get in the bath with you?" I asked softly as I looked into her eyes
She nodded hesitantly
"You sure little witch?" I asked cupping her cheek with my hand she nodded more confidently this time then she scooted enough for me to get in with her
"Thank you" I told her before undressing
She averted her eyes from me making me giggle
"All is good princess" I got in behind her I washed myself as she played
"Ready to get your hair washed" I asked and she nodded Turing to face me
I rubbed shampoo into her scalp and she relaxed into my hands
I smiled at her leaning down to kiss her cheek. Pulling her back up with me so she was sitting on my lap
I played with her hair that was covered in small suds
I watched as she let her eyes close
"Sorry..I didn't mean to make you sleepy" I apologized leaning us over so I could rinse her hair. my hands completely supporting her. Much like a mother would hold her newborn child.
In this moment I know what we both completely trust each other. I sat her up and let her conditioner sit in her lair while she leaned onto my chest nuzzling her face into my neck
"Hi my love" I giggled running water over her back with my cupped hand she only hummed
"Don't go sleepies yet. I need you to eat lunch first" I finished rinsing out her hair before getting us out wrapping a towel around each of us.
I got us both dressed before carrying her out into the kitchen.
I sat her on a stool while I leaned on the counter beside her
"Come on baby..food" I tapped her plate. She wasn't interested
"Here come on. Mama feed you" I brought the sandwich to her mouth.
She slowly opened taking a bite.
The whole time I had to encourage she and feed her and she only ate half the sandwich.
"That good enough. You ready?" I asked holding out my arms
She hugged onto my neck with one hand rubbing her eye with the other
"Baba?"
"Sure baby" I made her a bottle
I know I need to wean her off the bottles and the pacifiers but they help to comfort her and bring her peace. How could I take that away from her. As soon as she shows more signs of progress I'll start to try. But for now she's not ready and neither am I.
"Mama stay with me?" She asked when I laid her down
"Of course" I got in bed beside her. She curled up real close we were both facing each other. Her head now the crook of my elbow. With that same arm I was playing with the hair on the top of her head. She was getting so sleepy. I took the bottle from her holding it up for her. And she now used the free hand to grip my shirt.
I watched her face a she fell into a deep sleep.
