Song: War of Hearts by Ruelle

"She was drawn to him. The way his eyes danced with hers in the darkness. Like two shooting stars on the same path in the night sky. It was almost as if they were meant to be. If she believed in real love, this would be it."

-Jessica Michelle

...

The world was buzzing with excitement. People were gathered around their t.v, hearing the news reporter update them on the event. Each were waiting to see a glimpse of their favorite hero.

In the background, you can hear a news anchor talk about the arrival of the Number One Hero who was dressed in a fancy suit, flames gone from his face, giving the media the opportunity to snap a rare picture of him in that way.

But your mind was focused on other things.

You look in the mirror. What do you see? Lips, cheekbones, two eyes, two eyebrows, two ears, a nose, some dimples.

How long has it been since you looked into the mirror and genuinely liked what you saw? The sight that used to greet you was nothing more than a painful reminder of what you were- or once were- a monster with no soul, with no purpose, a creature that was slowly dying. But now, there was somebody else. This monster wore a smile so bright, it held a glow that seemed to lighten its eyes. This monster was alive, healthy and taking on the world little by little.

There was no disgust. No little voice in your head that whispered cruel words. There was no shame in who you were, your eyes didn't look away. You weren't hiding anymore.

You used to see remnants of a person that was no longer you. And today you stand proudly in front of the mirror and know that's you looking back. Finally.

"You look beautiful."

He stands in the back, face freshly shaved with his hair pulled back. When you squint to pay close attention, you see the scar that was being covered up by makeup. Raising a hand up, you reach for it and let him guide you out the door and down the stairs to where the rest were waiting. "I'm nervous," you whisper, like a forbidden confession.

Aizawa merely glances at you, his typically cold face breaking out into a rare smile, a smile only his daughters get to see. "I forget that you're just a kid sometimes."

"Do I really look that old to you?"

He squeezes your hand, slowly descending as voices began to grow louder. "No. You just have this maturity to you, like a person thats lived a thousand lives." Reaching the floor at last, he helps adjust your dress. "You are my daughter. Whatever happens tonight, remember that I will forever be proud of you. Today, you walk out there with your head held up high- Aizawa-style."

Laughing, you kiss his cheek, missing the stubble that he usually had. "Thank you Dad."

"Anytime kiddo."

In the living room was the Midoriya family, followed by the Bakugo family, your sister and Todoroki. Stepping into the room, Bakugo was turning already, having sensed the way the air had electrified. "About time-"

Stars.

If he wasn't already in love, then this definitely sealed the deal.
