Toga was good with hair. She knew how to cut it, style it, braid it, anything really. Her gentle manner when she handled yours nearly made your shoulders slump. It roused a comforted sigh, the tension and knots bound to your muscles letting loose as her hands brushed against your scalp.

"I'm scared! There's no way you beat me this time!" Twice sat criss-crossed as his personalities played hot potato with his brain. A monopoly board's distance between you and him was all that separated you from the man quickly losing his grip on victory.

Sitting in a chair behind you, her legs on either side of your shoulders, Toga tsk-ed, shaking her head.

"I don't know Twice, she's got all of the North side properties locked and loaded."

"Don't forget my railroads," you whispered, unable to move your head all the way with her fingers still tussled in the strands. The girl hummed with a nod of affirmation. Your money and property cards were scattered all over, but it seemed your handle on strategy was top-notch.

"This wouldn't have happened if you took the banker's advice, you know." Compress said, crossing his arms and very smugly raising a brow at Twice. Although no one really noticed since he sort of forgot his mask was still on.

"Compress, you're right! What do you know!? Weren't you an entertainer?!" Still determined to win this fourth game of Monopoly, Twice refused to simply relinquish. He ended up mortgaging half his properties for the next roll.

"Y/n, can I cut this part?" Toga asked as you chuckled at Twice who was banging his piece against the board counting the spaces he had to move. "It's growing out in tufts again just like Tomura's."

"Yeah," you said softly, giving her a little smile over her shoulder. "I trust you."

The girl's face fell into an expression of wonder as you uttered those words. She blinked once or twice, head slightly tilted like a confused pup's. It was seldom she ever heard such words of affirmation from anyone in her life.

So when you asked her to cut your hair, shave it near the length of a buzz cut and dye it the color it used to be before turning silver, Toga already felt your trust. She felt in the way you ate with her in the mornings, always looked outside to make sure the coast was clear for her before stepping outside, even in the way you took her hands with guilt in the eye. It was when you asked her to help you change your physicality.

Because the first step of integrating yourself with the league was getting rid of old clothes, hiding beneath a hood and mask. The next was morphing your lighter features to darkness. Becoming unrecognizable even without a disguise. Like a snake shedding its skin only to reveal a different set of scales underneath.

Toga was more than happy to do it for you. Twice and Compress were overjoyed at an excuse to play some games all together while waiting for the dye to set in. Those few hours of laughter and sitting on the floor till your bones were sore seemed like minutes.

Trusting those in the league to aid you in the process wasn't only a right of passage. It started to make you feel as if you might actually belong among them. A band of forgotten souls done wrong trying to proclaim their rights. Tagging along for the sake of your brother no longer felt like an obligation. It felt like a gift you weren't expecting.

"I'm so glad!" Toga giggled, finishing up the dye at your roots, cutting loose strands rebelling against the newfound short cut. "I was sick and tired of being the only girl since Magne passed. I appreciate someone letting me dye their hair other than Dabi."

As it was your turn to once again roll the dice, they tumbled onto the board as your eyebrows furrowed from her words. Nearly interrupting her work, you turned your head, looking back at her over your shoulder with confusion. Dabi was never a topic of conversation you wanted to get into, but-
